NEWS - Niente Ball(e) americane! Da stasera "Here and Now" su una famiglia Usa progressista piena di...Oscar

SGUARDO FETISH - Knock on Wood!
Evan Rachel Wood of Westworld shows her glam-rock side on the cover of Elle Canada‘s May issue, on stands April 10th.
Evan Rachel Wood of Westworld shows her glam-rock side on the cover of Elle Canada‘s May issue, on stands April 10th.
Here’s what the 29-year-old actress and singer had to share with the mag:
On her three-year-old son with ex Jamie Bell: “Bless him. He’s a gypsy by proxy because his parents are. He’s only three now, but he’s starting to understand. He hears one of my songs and he knows that that’s me, and he has seen me on TV and he’s starting to put the pieces together. His parents are very different. My ex-husband is lovely and very British and straightedge, and then he’s got this glam-rock weirdo for a mom.”
On her move to Nashville: “L.A. is wonderful, and it has given me so many amazing things, but I’ve also got a lot of demons here. I was ready to break it up a little bit. I wanted to give my kid some grass to run around on. Again, he’s got two actor parents. I was like, ‘You don’t need to live in L.A. full-time. Let’s go somewhere a little “normal” for a bit.’”
On her band Rebel and a Basketcase: “We’re a baby band. My first love was singing and music, and it still kind of is. I love acting, and it’s a deep, deep love. But music is like my religion. If I didn’t have music, I would die.”
On writing uplifting music: “It’s easier to focus on the bad stuff, you know, than to pull yourself up and sing about something nice. Our new single is called ‘Today,’ and it’s just a big battle cry about not letting the dark forces ruin your day. You make today and you make the changes, and as long as you’re here and you’re fighting, you’re going to be okay. I’m excited for people to hear that song. I think it’s a really good time for it.”

GOSSIP - Mistress of "Playboy".
On-screen she does not hold back and, it seems, off-screen things are no different.
Lizzy Caplan has ditched her clothes and any Hollywood pretence for the new issue of Playboy Magazine. The
32-year-old has dished what she looks for in a man and their underwear,
about her first sexual experience and what alcohol was her go-to for
her first nude scene. While she
was happy to bare all when it came to her opinions and past, however,
the Masters Of Sex star did not bare all of herself. In
the Playboy pictorial, Lizzy posed up in vintage-style sexy lingerie
but did not go the full Monty for the Fifties-inspires shoot. Of course, the star is no stranger to getting nude as she stars in the Emmy Award-winning show Masters Of Sex. While Lizzy
told the magazine she is now used to having to strip off in the name of
her character - she plays sexologist Virginia Johnson - the first time
she filmed a nude scene she needed a little help in the form of one too
many cocktails.
The
star joked on her nude appearance on True Blood: 'I think I drank Grey
Goose, kept in the freezer from the night before and mixed into a bottle
of Vitaminwater - a surprisingly delicious cocktail. I drank the entire
bottle and had to get my stomach pumped. 'I
was encouraged to get loose. Unfortunately that's not an option on
Masters, even for the more intimidating nude scenes, because they're
always in the middle of the day, with nine pages of intense dialogue. 'For the True Blood scene I had to walk across a room wearing only tiny panties and climb on a guy, and that was it.'
Even without the nudity, portraying a real life person on the dramatic Masters has been nerve wracking. Specific tastes: The star (seen here Tuesday) said she likes men to wear tighty-whitey undies'. Because
I was mainly known for doing comedy, not drama, I just couldn't shake
the idea that the people who had hired me would quickly get wise to the
fact that I was the wrong person for the job, that I was in over my
head. Luckily, that's what the real Virginia Johnson felt when she
showed up for her first day with Dr. Masters, so it worked for me.' Getting
serious for a second, Lizzy also told the magazine that it would be
'naive' to think the treatment of women has 'come that far since the
1950s' when her show is set.'There's
nothing on our show around the feminist issues that I don't feel has a
huge echo today. If anything, it makes me angry about today. 'I've
never said this out loud before, but I don't know if we'll get there in
my lifetime. Until we can convince our own side - women - that this is a
good thing for all of us, I don't see how we stand a chance convincing
all the men.'
Being
a comedian, Lizzy could not help to lighten the mood mid-interview
however, joking about what underwear she likes men to wear. 'I
like it when guys don't wear those boxer briefs that go to mid-thigh
and look like bike shorts. It's harder and harder to find. '
'I
prefer old-fashioned tighty-whities or even just boxer shorts. When you
discover a man who wears tighty-whities, you hold on to him. It's so
old-school.' And tighty-whities are not the only thing a guy should have. 'A guy who wants a chance with me has to have a sick and dark sense of humour.'I've
had a handful of serious relationships. I take that s**t very
seriously. Before breaking up I will try everything to make it work,
because if I love somebody, it means a great deal.
'But when it's over, there's a DO NOT RESUSITATE sign hung around the relationship's head.'
Of course, being Playboy, the 20th question was rather cheeky: 'When did you master sex? And what's better than sex?' Not
even pausing, Lizzy responded: 'Immediately. Nah, no one does it
immediately. I was very lucky to have an ideal first sexual experience.
It was good and sweet and safe. What's better than sex? Sex with someone
I like.'

Sofia Vergara is simply lovely on the cover of Redbook magazine’s June 2015 issue, on newsstands May 26. Here’s what the 42-year-old Hot Pursuit and Modern Family actress had to share with the mag:
On having a baby with Joe Manganiello: “Joe is younger than me. He’s 38. He’s never had kids. How am I going to say no? I tell him if we’re going to do this, we have to do it, like, now, because I don’t want to be 50 with a baby.”
On knowing Joe was the one: “I finally realized that relationships don’t need to be so much work. Ever since we met, it’s been so easy. I’m very suspicious. I’m like, ‘It’s not normal that we’ve been together for nine months and we haven’t had a big fight or anything.’”
On what she’s learned about men: “I have learned that I have to let them be men. I think it’s very important not to try to take over on everything – even if you think you can do it easier or better. If you don’t let them do things, you create a cycle and then you complain that they never do anything.”

L'EDICOLA DI LOU - Stralci, cover e commenti sui telefilm dai media italiani e stranieri
(Aldo Grasso, 20.04.2015)

NEWS - HBO "GOT" Talent!
"Game of Thrones" potrebbe durare più del previsto...
Articolo tratto da "Uproxx"
The Season 4 finale of Game of Thrones was watched by seven million people. That’s compared to the four million suckers who tuned into True Blood‘s series finale, or the 710,000 who saw Shosh freaking out over Josh Charles in the most recent episode of Girls. Point is, Game of Thrones is a massive, massive hit, and HBO wants it to stick around for longer than seven seasons, which is showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss’ stated preference.
Yeah, about that.
HBO needs more Game of Thrones, but they don’t want a movie.

“This is the hard part of what we do,” sighs HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. “We started this journey with David and Dan. It’s their vision. Would I love the show to go 10 years as both a fan and a network executive? Absolutely.”This isn’t exactly a surprise. Game of Thrones is the reason HBO is about to earn enough money to fill the Iron Bank of Braavos from HBO Now, not to mention all the merchandising and exposure from stunts like the Game of Thrones Exhibition at South by Southwest. Plus, without Game of Thrones, what is their signature show? True Detective was a sensation, but ratings were half of what Thrones pulls in. The Leftovers is too miserable, Veep and Silicon Valley too inaccessible for the average Bazinga Bang Theory fan.
So if the producers prefer seven seasons and HBO prefers more, what happens? A conversation…Like amicable spouses who avoid a sensitive area of disagreement, this issue is something HBO and the showrunners haven’t discussed thus far…“We’ll have an honest conversation that explores all possible avenues,” Lombardo says. “If they weren’t comfortable going beyond seven seasons, I trust them implicitly and trust that’s the right decision—as horrifying as that is to me. What I’m not going to do is have a show continue past where the creators believe where they feel they’ve finished with the story.” (Via)
HBO needs more Game of Thrones, but they don’t want a movie.
HBO isn’t keen on a Thrones film even if it’s a potential box office blockbuster, however, because the format switch could be construed as snubbing their loyal subscribers. (The showrunners won’t comment on the matter.) “Certainly there have been conversations where it’s been said, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to do that?’” Lombardo said. “But when you start a series with our subscribers, the promise is that for your HBO fee that we’re going to take you to the end of this. I feel that on some level [a movie would be] changing the rules: Now you have to pay $16 to see how your show ends.” (Via)If it meant watching MOTHERF*CKING DRAGONS ON THE BIG SCREEN, It’d be willing to pay $50, which is how much movie tickets are going to cost by the time the show ends after 19 seasons.

‘Hemlock Grove’ è una soap gotica dove la domanda ‘What are You?’ sostituisce definitivamente il classico ‘Who are You?”.

The casting will mark the first potential regular TV gig for the acclaimed Silence of the Lambs and Thor
actor, and continues the trend of Academy Award winners taking
small-screen roles. He will be joined in the project by actress Evan
Rachel Wood (Once and Again, True Blood).
No, Hopkins is not playing “the Yul Brynner role.” But the descriptions for both his character and Wood’s shed some insight into the secretive project’s storyline.
The 1973 version of Westworld—from techno-thriller author Michael Crichton—was about a futuristic theme park populated with robot characters who malfunctioned and attacked the guests. (Later, Crichton would use a similar plot for his bestselling novel Jurassic Park.) In the HBO pilot, Hopkins will play Dr. Robert Ford, described as “the brilliant, taciturn and complicated Creative Director, Chief Programmer and Chairman of the Board of Westworld; Ford has an uncompromising creative vision for the park—and unorthodox methods of achieving it.” Wood plays Dolores Abernathy, “provincial, beautiful and kind. Dolores is the quintessential farm girl of the frontier West—who is about to discover that her entire idyllic existence is an elaborately constructed lie.”
Wood’s character description suggests that she’s an android, and that Westworld’s robots will be similar to those in Blade Runner or the Battlestar Galactica reboot—convincingly humanoid and sometimes unaware of their own artificiality.
Right now, Westworld is just at the pilot-order stage. But with Hopkins on board and a high-powered team behind the camera (executive producers J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, Bryan Burk, and producer-director Jonathan Nolan), the project has strong odds for a full series pickup.

"A couple of years ago I sat in the audience for a panel
discussion on queer representation in entertainment; the presentation
included a breezy tour through the gay history of the media, complete
with Powerpoint slides of Rosie, Ellen and old People magazines from when you needed to be on the cover of something to come out. The overview was greeted warmly, until we got to Will and Grace,
where one of the show's characters, Jack McFarland, proved a sticking
point. Jack, a sassy sidekick whose flamboyance towed the line between
camp and parody, has long been a lightning rod of discussion in the
community. You could feel that discomfort in the room.
Our tour guide diffused the tension by reminding the
mostly-male audience that Jack might be a stereotype, but many of us
know a Jack in real life. The audience laughed with delight and
recognition. They nodded to friends as if to say, "Oh, yes. That's
true." What he didn't say is that many of us are Jacks, but I wondered how many people would laugh at that statement.
I thought of this moment after NBC announced that the network would be pulling Sean Saves the World, the freshman sitcom starring Sean Hayes, who played Jack on Will and Grace. For those who haven't seen the show (read: all of you), Sean Saves the World
was about a father forced to take sole guardianship of his estranged
(yet adorable!) daughter after her mother abandoned her. The show was
NBC's attempt to relive its glory days by borrowing from what worked in
the '90s, with Hayes playing nearly the same character, a little older
and wiser, but with all the trademark pitfalls. Even the stilted laugh
track made it sound like the laughter was echoing in from 15 years ago.
But in getting (rightly) cancelled by NBC, audiences weren't just
leaving '90s sitcoms behind. They were leaving behind the Jack
McFarlands, a relic of the Queer as Folk era of gay TV, when a show like Queer as Folk (for
all its whitewashed issues) could give us three effeminate gays in its
lead cast: Emmett, Ted and Justin. The recent television movement has
been a push toward post-gay representation, creating male characters who
just so happen to be gay. On the critically lauded Brooklyn Nine-Nine,
that's the entire point of Andre Braugher's Captain Holt. His sexuality
is as inscrutable as the rest of his persona, a hard-ass who has
learned to blend in to survive in a homophobic workforce. The recent new
HBO addition Looking was celebrated for the same thing.
Although many critics chided it for being dull (which it is), defenders
of the show found it liberating that gay characters got to be boring on television just like everyone else.
However, there's a certain type of character that gets the
privilege to be post-gay, guys whose sexuality doesn't stand out in the
same way that Jack's did. In order to get on television today, gay
characters are butching it up, becoming like Captain Holt to prove they
can hang with the boys, camouflaged with masculinity. Looking's characters are all fit hipster bros who call each other "dude" a lot. On the recently departed Happy Endings,
the schlubby, hairy Max acted as a deconstruction of gay stereotypes.
It was a running joke that Max was "less gay" than the show's straight
dudes, much like gay characters on Nashville and GCB. This might be what it takes to fit in, but it looks awfully heteronormative.
Even recent shows that depict effeminate male characters
use them primarily as the butt of the joke, a Lucy character who is
always causing trouble. They act in counterpoint to a straighter man,
who is seen as the voice of reason. The now-cancelled Ryan Murphy sitcom
The New Normal provided Bryan — a shallow, judgmental
television executive — primarily as a counterpoint to his angelically
understanding partner David, a doctor who watches football and has no
other character traits. David's role is "The Problem Solver." On Modern Family,
Mitchell and Cameron have a similar dynamic, but Mitch seems to
increasingly resent Cam for his effeminate tomfoolery. Their growing
animosity has led many viewers to wonder if they secretly hate each other.
More than Mitchell, it's the community that has a
complicated relationship with flamboyancy, much like the guys that I sat
on the aforementioned panel with. It's a lot easier to pretend the
queens don't exist than try to represent them, or we'd have to admit we
have something in common. I remember that my mother once told me how
much I reminded her of Jack and I remember how much it bothered me. I
never stopped to ask myself why.
In being the newest gay show on TV, many will look to Looking
to fix the problems surrounding gay representation and fill in the gaps
in our media spectrum. Such is the inherent burden of representing a
community, but we need to recognize why those cracks exist in the first
place and why certain character types might push our buttons when it
comes to masculinity and internalized homophobia. Fixing one TV show
won't solve a problem that's bigger than HBO. With True Blood’s Lafayette and Glee's Kurt Hummel on shows that are on their last legs, our effeminate males are quickly becoming an endangered species.
On Girls, Lena Dunham's Hannah recently mourned the death of
her complicated and quick-witted editor, David Pressler-Goings, played
by the ever-androgynous John Cameron Mitchell. As David ascended to TV
heaven to be with Sean Hayes, Hannah recalled that he had been her
champion, the only one who believed in her work. TVs Davids, Jacks and
Emmetts need champions too. They might not be represented on the air
anymore, but it doesn't mean they aren't still here in real life and
wondering what happened to their television counterparts".

Barry Sloane shows off his chiseled shirtless torso in the brand new issue of British Cosmopolitan.
Here’s what the 32-year-old Revenge actor, who posed for the mag to raise awareness of male cancer for Cancer Research UK, had to share:
On checking himself for cancer: “I always check myself every couple of weeks after a shower – if guys are honest they know what it’s supposed to feel like.”
On working with Russell Crowe in Noah: “It’s only a small part but if you’d have told me five years ago I’d be working with Russell I wouldn’t have believed you. He’s fantastic he gave me some good tips.”
On his life before becoming famous: “I finished on Hollyoaks then I did The Bill and Holby City which was fun. I knew my next job had to be something cutting edge because of the stigma that unfairly is tied to soaps. I did a theatre production of Jerusalem and it was so successful it went to the West End and then Broadway. It was like a golden ticket.”

L'EDICOLA DI LOU - Stralci, cover e commenti sui telefilm dai media italiani e stranieriBELLO
Non solo addominali: Manganiello for fashion!
Joe Manganiello is seriously handsome on the cover of Bello magazine’s January 2014 issue, which is available now!
Here’s what the 37-year-old actor had to share with the mag:
On going to the gym: “There are so many things that are out of your control in this business, and I think in life in general. And one of the things that I really do have in my control is how hard, how much effort I put into the gym. There’s really nothing else on the planet – nothing that I’ve come across – that gives you as much back as you put in as the gym does.”
On being committed to his work: “Talent is such an objective thing; it’s up for opinion, and it’s up for interpretation. And the one thing that’s not is work ethic. I think that’s probably just from growing up in Pittsburg, coming from where I did, and in that part of the world, you work hard. I come from very hard working people, and I know the value of a dollar. So if someone’s going to pay me a certain amount of money to do something, then I’m going to work my ass off. Especially playing a supernatural creature – I think [Alcide] should look that way. As a kid watching all those movies and reading comic books, the chance for me to play a supernatural character…I want him to look right.”
On the final season of his hit show True Blood: “This is the first season that I actually don’t know what’s in store for me or anyone else on the show. I didn’t ask. I usually have lunch with whoever the show runner is before the season starts. I would always call them up, wanting to know. But this year I think I want to be surprised. I have theories, you know, but I don’t know anything for sure.”

GOSSIP - True Poop!
GOSSIP - Fuori i pettorali, è Natale! Possibilmente a petto nudo in vista.
On being focused on his body as an actor: “There’s the triangle – the mind, body, and spirit. And all too often I see actors really work the mental and spiritual side but not put anything into the physical side, they just kind of ignore it. I don’t come from that school. I come at it in ancient Greek sense, in that their culture was built on athletics and on philosophers.
On his mentality in the gym: “My training is obviously about weightlifting and building muscle, but it’s also about remaining athletic. It’s about building the body, but it’s also about teaching your body to adjust to its own weight, especially as you get bigger. And it’s practical. I come from Pittsburgh, and the people in the gym in Pittsburgh aren’t working out to look good because they’ve got a shoot coming up. They’re working out because they want to be stronger, because it helps them in life.”
