"The Goldbergs", piacevole sit-com allisciata dalla nostalgia per gli anni '80 
“Una sit-com sugli anni «Eighties», favolosi come tutti gli altri decenni (gli scherzi della memoria), una sit-com girata nello stile di quegli anni, piena zeppa di riferimenti pop, di icone, di oggetti culto, una sit-com che rappresenta il punto di vista di una telecamera tenuta in mano da un undicenne. «The Goldbergs», la serie di Joi, è ambientata a Jenkintown, in Pennsylvania. I Goldbergs, la famiglia, è una comunità un po’ stravagante: papà Murray Goldberg (Jeff Garlin), sua moglie Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) e i tre figli, Erica (Hayley Orrantia), la più sveglia e di successo, Barry (Troy Gentile), l’incompreso, e Adam (Sean Giambrone). Il piccolo Adam filma i momenti fondamentali della biografia famigliare (mai buttare via niente!). Il piccolo Adam altri non è che il vero Adam F. Goldberg, oggi regista e produttore televisivo, creatore della comedy. Partecipa attivamente alla famiglia anche il nonno Albert Pops Salomon (padre di Beverly) che vizia i nipoti alle spalle dei loro genitori. Fanno la loro fugace apparizione anche alcune guest star, tra cui Chuck Norris, Charlie Sheen e David Spade. Se da una parte la serie racconta la complessità dei rapporti famigliari (madre overapprehensive, una premurosità sempre sopra le righe, padre un po’ incitrullito dal lavoro e dai sensi di colpa indotti dalla moglie, figli adolescenti rompi), dall’altra mette in scena frammenti di quegli anni (i miti musicali, quelli sportivi, quelli cinematografici, i primi computer, la nascita della Cnn, il videogioco Pac-Man, E.T. L’extraterrestre e Star Wars, Thriller di Michael Jackson, Born in The Usa di Bruce Springsteen…), quando gli Stati Uniti erano al massimo dell’esplosione della cultura pop (l’edonismo reaganiano, secondo la fortunata espressione di Roberto D’Agostino). Michael Jackson was almost "Doctor Who."
In a new book, "Now On The Big Screen: The Unofficial and Unauthorized Guide to 'Doctor Who' At The Cinema," author Charles Norton reveals that the King of Pop was at the top of Paramount Pictures' list when the studio was looking to bring "Doctor Who" to the US big screen in the late '80s, The Times of London was the first to report.
Though The Guardian called it "one of the weirdest casting decisions of all times," Jackson, who had recently appeared in "Moonwalker," was reportedly "quite keen" on the idea, according to Radio Times. "If he hadn’t come through [Bill] Cosby was considered the ideal replacement," the site reports.
It's hard to know what the late Jackson thought of "Doctor Who," but it's clear his daughter is a fan. When current Time Lord Matt Smith announced he'd be leaving the show, the 15-year-old girl tweeted:

"Doctor Who" is still looking to replace Smith, but details have recently come to light about John Hurt, who appeared in the Season 7 finale as an a unidentified incarnation of The Doctor. Fans have been scratching their heads as to how he will fit in the the Time Lord's timeline, but details recently emerged: Hurt will play a "dark Doctor."
"There was a gap between Paul McGann playing the Doctor [in the 1996 TV movie] and Christopher Eccleston, when we didn’t see a regeneration, [when the series was revived in 2005] and John Hurt will fit into that gap. He is a past Doctor, not a future Doctor," costume designer Howard Burden allegedly told Prince Charles and Camilla while giving them the royal tour of the BBC studios, according to The Mirror.

A partire dal 15 marzo, otto accademie del circuito Contourella Dance Project, distribuite su tutto il territorio nazionale (Milano, Roma, Napoli, Genova, Parma, Pavia e Aversa), ospitano Glee Dansing, il primo stage di danza e canto ispirato alla serie tv. Glee e' diventato un vero e proprio fenomeno di costume in tutto il mondo grazie al mix di elementi del musical, del talent show, del teen drama e della commedia, che rende Glee una delle serie di culto del momento. Le lezioni di Glee Dansing sono costruite sui successi musicali della serie, sulle note dei piu' famosi brani di artisti di ieri e di oggi: da Madonna a Beyonce', da Britney Spears a Amy Winehouse, dai Queen a Michael Jackson.

Gleeks, you probably thought Gwyneth Paltrow doing Cee-Lo was big news. Well, you’re gonna get down on your knees and thank Grilled Cheesus for this latest bit of news I’ve got: A Glee source confirms to EW exclusively that Glee will be tackling Michael Jackson’s iconic “Thriller” for their post-Super Bowl episode…but with a twist. The Jackson classic will be performed as a mash-up with another song, yet to be chosen. But the supersized episode, which our source says will be the most expensive in Glee history and likely one of televsion’s priciest episodes ever, will also feature covers of tunes by Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry. Whew. I’m already worn out, and yet there’s more…
Although “Thriller” is featured in the episode, it will not be a Michael Jackson tribute episode. Nor will it be a tribute to Bruce Springsteen, as rumors have suggested. In fact, our source says that the only pop star truly considered for the Super Bowl episode was Sir Elton John (expect a John tribute episode as part of Glee‘s back nine episodes).
The post-Super Bowl episode will instead keep with the evening’s sports theme and focus on the local football championship and Sue Sylvester’s cheerleading regionals (the “Thriller” mash-up will be played during halftime of the onscreen pigskin game). Basically, it will be a classic episode of Glee, but just bigger and better; Gleeks can also expect appearances from season two fan favorites: Blaine (Darren Criss) and Coach Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones). Oh, and General Motors is co-sponsoring the episode, which likely means there will be limited commercial interruptions. Have you wet yourselves with excitement yet, Gleeks? Per non essere stata citata dal gemello Michael Jackson nel testamento e per non poter intraprendere eventuali tournè con i redivivi (si fa per dire) Jackson Five causa impegni sul set. La poveretta aveva anche accettato di interpretare da controfigura la scena in cui il presunto cantante di "Thriller" scendeva con le proprie gambe dall'ambulanza dopo la notte della sua morte, alimentando le voci che fosse ancora vivo. La Hatcher sperava che il suo legame di sangue con Michael venisse allo scoperto, ma niente.
