Prenderanno il via ad agosto le riprese di "Das Boot", la nuova serie originale Sky che debutterà nell’autunno 2018 in contemporanea nei 5 paesi in cui Sky è presente, per una potenziale platea di 22 milioni di utenti, ma anche in altri territori in Europa e nel mondo. La serie è prodotta da Sky Deutschland con Bavaria Fernsehproduktion e Sonar Entertainment e diretta da Andreas Prochaska (The Dark Valley, A Day for a Miracle). Le riprese inizieranno il 31 agosto e dureranno 104 giorni. La produzione internazionale toccherà diverse location a partire da La Rochelle (Francia), fino a Praga, Malta e Monaco. La serie in otto episodi è il sequel dell’omonimo romanzo di Lothar-Günther Buchheim e del film di grandissimo successo del 1981, che ottenne sei nomination agli Oscar nel 1983. Il fil rouge dell’intera serie - ambientata nel corso della Seconda Guerra Mondiale così come il libro e il film - è il fanatismo cieco che spinge i giovani a una guerra senza senso, raccontato dalla prospettiva dei soldati tedeschi, un tema purtroppo ancora di grande attualità. Questa nuova produzione TV, a differenza del libro e del film, riporterà anche il punto di vista di alcuni personaggi della resistenza francese. La storia è infatti ambientata nel 1942, quando le battaglie degli U-boot (sommergibili, abbreviazione di Unterseeboot) sono sempre più frequenti e sanguinose. Mentre un equipaggio di giovani marinai viene spedito in mare per una pericolosa missione di combattimento, la Resistenza insorge nel porto di La Rochelle. Il racconto è arricchito con le scene dei combattimenti Alleati sulla terraferma e in mare. Nel cast di livello internazionale, attori del calibro di Lizzy Caplan (Masters of Sex), August Wittgenstein (The Crown), Vicky Krieps (Colonia Dignidad), Jonathan Zaccaϊ (Robin Hood), Leonard Scheicher (Finsterworld), Robert Stadlober (Summer Storm), Franz Dinda (The Cloud) e Stefan Konarske (The Young Karl Marx). Moritz Polter e Oliver Vogel, produttori esecutivi per la Bavaria Fernsehproduktion, hanno commentato: «Pochi progetti televisivi generano un’attesa come quella per il sequel di Das Boot – quindi i preparativi per la produzione sono stati molto impegnativi e dettagliati, ma al tempo stesso molto gratificanti considerata la qualità dello sforzo creativo che siamo riusciti a mettere insieme. Ora non vediamo l’ora di dare inizio a un nuovo capitolo a bordo dell’U-612 a La Rochelle e nelle altre location in tutta Europa con un cast di fama internazionale, co-protagonisti di altissimo livello e l’acclamato regista Andreas Prochaska».
Carsten Schmidt, Amministratore Delegato di Sky Deutschland, ha aggiunto: «È fantastico riuscire ad iniziare le riprese soltanto a un anno di distanza dall’annuncio del progetto. La storia di Das Boot è unica e si inserisce perfettamente nel solco delle migliori produzioni originali Sky», da Babylon Berlin a Gomorra e The Young Pope.
«In un momento storico in cui la parola ‘classico’ è troppo spesso abusata e banalizzata, Das Boot rientra invece perfettamente nella descrizione», ha dichiarato Jenna Santoianni, EVP, Television Series della Sonar Entertainment. «Il film e il libro a cui è ispirato hanno entrambi riscosso un enorme successo. "Masters of Sex", quando la qualità non incontra il pubblico
"Sta andando in onda la quarta e ultima stagione di «Masters of Sex», la serie americana creata da Michelle Ashford. Racconta gli anni ardimentosi delle ricerche del ginecologo William Masters e della psicologa Virginia Johnson, diventati famosi per aver redatto il primo studio approfondito sul sesso, un lavoro durato undici anni e sfociato nel famoso libro La risposta sessuale umana del 1966 (Sky Atlantic, mercoledì, 2L10). La rete americana Showtime ne ha annunciato la fine: «"Masters of Sex" è stato un viaggio magnificamente scritto e interpretato sulla rivoluzione dei costumi sessuali dell'America. Siamo assolutamente orgogliosi di aver condiviso la storia di Masters e Johnson per quattro stagioni acclamate dalla critica». Acclamate dalla critica ma disertate dal pubblico, con un deciso crollo negli ascolti. Non sempre la qualità si concilia con la vasta platea. Saranno contenti i «gufi» che predicano la fine della serialità, che sostengono che le serie televisive si stanno uccidendo da sole perché si sono moltiplicate a dismisura, che la tossicità dei loro impianti narrativi le ha rese ridicole. Può darsi, ma gli stessi discorsi li abbiamo già sentiti da anni, a proposito di libri e di cinema. C'è stato un periodo in cui si diceva che un libro medio autoriale era una sorta di affronto, mentre in un film medio si poteva sempre scoprire qualcosa, perché comunque era attraversato dalla forza delle convenzioni e dei generi. Magari oggi possiamo sostenere che un film medio è un affronto e si fa fatica a seguirlo fino alla fine, mentre in una serie media si può sempre scoprire qualcosa, aldi là dell'Arte, del Bello o del Brutto. Così funziona l'industria culturale, così funzionano i fantasmi prima psichici e poi narrativi. Perciò spiace che chiuda una serie come «Masters of Sex», i cui racconti restano interessanti (a volte persino troppo didascalici) e la cui scrittura riesce a dispiegarsi in molti registri". series has your figure skating fix. Olympic figure skating gold medalist Tara Lipinski — who glided her
way to victory as the youngest winner of a ladies’ figure skating
individual event at the 1998 Winter Games in Nagano, Japan — is
sharpening her blades to produce a new figure skating drama series on
Hulu, a source confirms to EW. As first reported by Deadline, the show, produced by Michael Shamberg (Into The Badlands) and written by Jonathan Igla (Mad Men, Masters of Sex),
will take audiences’ attention away from the glitz and glamor of the
rink and go behind-the-scenes for a glimpse into the world of
competitive figure skating. Hulu is developing a script for the untitled
series, which will delve into what it takes to reach the career height
of Olympic figure skating champion. The drama will focus on a group of
men and women in their teens and 20s and reveal the challenges and
dedication that go into making a champion.

Lizzy Caplan relaxes poolside in this brand new feature from Malibu magazine’s December 2015 issue. Here’s what the 33-year-old Masters of Sex star had to share with the mag:
On if she draws from anything in real life when creating characters: “Not really. I mean, to some extent, sure. It’s our job to portray people who are not ourselves, so we need to pay attention to how people who are not ourselves are existing in the world. But, for me, it usually starts with putting myself in the situation and thinking about how I’d react. I’m pretty good at this point at putting myself in somebody else’s shoes and knowing how she would behave.”
On if she’s tempted to join social media: “I do look at other people’s social media sites. And I’m a really big fan of looking at other people’s Tinder and swiping for them, because I think that’s so strange and odd. But for me personally, there’s no temptation. It’s probably a combination of things. I have reasons for staying off, for personal as well as professional reasons. But more than that, there’s something about turning your friends or anybody you know into your audience that doesn’t sit well for me. GOSSIP - Mistress of "Playboy". Lizzy-attizza Caplan sulla rivista per soli uomini (vestita) dispensa consigli all'acqua di rose: "il miglior sesso è con chi ti piace". 32-year-old has dished what she looks for in a man and their underwear,
about her first sexual experience and what alcohol was her go-to for
her first nude scene. While she
was happy to bare all when it came to her opinions and past, however,
the Masters Of Sex star did not bare all of herself. In
the Playboy pictorial, Lizzy posed up in vintage-style sexy lingerie
but did not go the full Monty for the Fifties-inspires shoot. Of course, the star is no stranger to getting nude as she stars in the Emmy Award-winning show Masters Of Sex. While Lizzy
told the magazine she is now used to having to strip off in the name of
her character - she plays sexologist Virginia Johnson - the first time
she filmed a nude scene she needed a little help in the form of one too
many cocktails.

latest issue, hitting stands this week. They speak candidly during a
roundtable about race, sexism, aging, nudity and typecasting.Viola on what most appealed to her and scared her about playing the lead in a Shonda Rhimes drama (How To Get Away With Murder): There was absolutely no precedent for it. I had never seen a 49-year-old, dark-skinned woman who is not a size 2 be a sexualized role in TV or film. I’m a sexual woman, but nothing in my career has ever identified me as a sexualized woman. I was the prototype of the “mommified” role. Then all of a sudden, this part came, and fear would be an understatement. When I saw myself for the first time in the pilot episode, I was mortified. I saw the fake eyelashes and, “Are you kidding me? Who is going to believe this?” And then I thought: “OK, this is your moment to not typecast yourself, to play a woman who is sexualized and do your investigative work to find out who this woman is and put a real woman on TV who’s smack-dab in the midst of this pop fiction.
Maggie on a specific point in her career when she felt the bravest: I had a rape scene in The Honorable Woman where it was clearly written that she’d be saying, “No, no, please, no,” right away. But I wanted her to be complicit and wanting it; the darkest, most painful sex, right up until the point it turned into rape. I wanted her to want something she knew she shouldn’t want. I can sometimes tell when actors fought an ordinary approach to a scene, and I’m so glad they did because it tells a better story.
Lizzy on if it’s tough to do a lot of nudity on Masters of Sex: I was more afraid of doing nudity on [HBO’s] True Blood. It got easier after that, but I’m not ever 100 percent comfortable. There was a scene last season where I take my robe off, I’m naked and then transition into locked-eye [with Michael Sheen’s character], full-on masturbation from beginning to end. We have a female showrunner who considers herself a prude, so the sex scenes always move the story forward. But I remember being in my trailer before that scene and thinking for the first time since the show started: “I really don’t want to go out there and do this.”

Paramount Television is again reaching into the studio archives, announcing that it is partnering with Jerry Bruckheimer on a television adaptation of the 1980 Richard Gere-Lauren Hutton film “American Gigolo.”
Bruckheimer, who was a producer on that crime drama centered around a superficial male escort in Los Angeles, will exec produce the project. Paul Schrader, the film’s director and writer, will serve as exec consultant.
Bruckheimer TV’s Jonathan Littman, KristieAnne Reed and Michael Azzolino will exec produce, co-exec produce and produce, respectively. “American Gigolo” will be a Paramount Television production.
“With its signature noir aesthetic, ‘American Gigolo’ has remained a deeply entertaining, psychological thriller and I’m thrilled to partner with [Paramount's] Brad [Grey] and Amy [Powell] on remaking it into a television series,” said Bruckheimer on behalf of Jerry Bruckheimer Television.
Bruckheimer signed a first-look film deal with Paramount last year, where he is developing film sequels to his “Beverly Hills Cop” and “Top Gun.” Among other TV deals, Bruckheimer TV and Michael Bay also recently partnered with TNT on a pilot based on the 1970s Florida drug trade that is penned by “Masters of Sex’s” Michelle Ashford.
“When it comes to making great television entertainment, Jerry Bruckheimer Television is in a league unto themselves and we take enormous pride in collaborating with Jerry, Jonathan and KristieAnne on developing a drama series that is every bit as cinematic, suspenseful and stylish as the film,” said Paramount TV prexy Amy Powell.
Paramount TV has also announced plans for a TV adaptation of “Ghost” and is partnering with Fox on a live stage version of “Grease!.”

Posing poolside and in the outdoors, the actress impresses in designer looks including Louis Vuitton. In the interview, she talks about wanting to get married and have kids, but does not want people to assume that she would be the one to stay at home. She says, “Now, I could have kids and want to do that, I have no idea—but from where I sit now, that does not sound all that appealing to me. I really want kids, and I want to be fully involved in their lives, but I don’t want to sacrifice my own goals to be a mother.”

"Masters of Sex", un ritratto di psicologie
"Masters of Sex è un gioco di parole fra «master» (maestro) e Masters William, il ginecologo statunitense che con la psicologa Virginia Johnson redasse il primo studio approfondito sul sesso, un lavoro durato 11 anni e sfociato nel famoso libro La risposta sessuale umana (1966), scritto in freddo linguaggio medico e pubblicizzato solamente fra gli addetti ai lavori, ma che divenne subito un best seller. Era la prima volta che la medicina si occupava non del dolore ma del piacere.Ispirata al romanzo biografico di Thomas Maier, Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson , scritta da Michelle Ashford e interpretata da Michael Sheen e Lizzy Caplan, la serie racconta gli anni ardimentosi delle ricerche (su cui incombeva l'interdetto della depravazione) e la tortuosa vicenda sentimentale dei due (Sky Atlantic, lunedì, ore 21,10). Dato l'argomento, la serie poteva scadere nel racconto pruriginoso, in una sorta di pornografia «scientifica» giustificata dal camice bianco. Se le prime due puntate appaiono eccessivamente didascaliche, la serie prende quota dal momento in cui le psicologie dei singoli vengono meglio individuate e descritte. William è un uomo complesso, mosso da una grande intuizione (esplorare la sfera più privata dell'uomo) che si ritorce spesso contro di lui, prigioniero com'è di una cultura maschilista. Più sfumata e complessa la figura di Virginia Johnson, figura di donna indipendente, emancipata, anche se deve fare i conti con i suoi fallimenti privati e due figli da crescere.
