Con "I love Dick" si scopre la...scopata concettuale (una volta era "senza cerniera")
"Dick è manzo. Scopate concettuali e passioni divoranti (con stalkeraggio) nell'ultima serie di Soloway. Oh madonna, è terribile. Così lento". Dialogo in italiano, in una serie americana. Due selezionatori della mostra di Venezia stanno guardando, slogandosi la mascella, un film di Chris Kraus, regista femminista e sperimentale, nel bianco e nero che attira l'aggettivo "rigoroso". Accade nella serie "I love Dick" (su Amazon). L'ultimo lavoro di Jill Soloway che cominciò come sceneggiatrice per i becchini di "Six Feet Under". E' diventata celebre con "Transparent", la serie sul padre di famiglia che annuncia: ho sempre voluto vestirmi da donna, ora che siete grandi lo farò. Per l'occasione ha rispolverato un romanzo di Chris Kraus uscito nel 1997, appunto "I love Dick", celebrato e poi dimenticato (esce da Neri Pozza). Spara altissimo il Guardian: "Il più importante romanzo sugli uomini e le donne del Novecento", imitato dal New Yorker e da Rick Moody, brillante romanziere che riconobbe un suo antenato in un racconto di Nathaniel Hawthorne, "Il velo nero del pastore". In materia di uomini e donne non ci sentiamo di garantire. Abbiamo goduto invece la satira sul postmodernismo e sugli intellettuali. Da accoppiare al film vincitore del Festival di Cannes, "The Square" di Ruben Ostlund. Lì c'erano artistici mucchietti di ghiaia, qui al museo viene esposto un mattone. Quando cade e va in pezzi, panico generale: e adesso chi lo dice all'artista? Scrittrice, regista, docente di cinema all'European Graduate School di Saas-Fee(stazione sciistica Svizzera, l'altro campus è a Malta) Chris Kraus racconta la sua passione divorante per un certo Dick. Completa di stalkeraggio pesante, via lettere e avance, con la complicità del marito francese Sylvère: quindici anni di più e una certa stanchezza sessuale. Però, essendo intellettuali, si raccontano ogni cosa e inventano "The Conceptual Fuck", la scopata concettuale. Neanche Dick è un personaggio di fantasia. Nella realtà si chiama Dick Hebdige, professore di Art e Media Studies all'Università di Santa Barbara, California. Inglese, non aveva trent'anni quando diventò famoso studiando i punk ("Sottocultura. Il fascino di uno stile innaturale", da Costa e Nolan). Poi si è occupato di "desert studies", roba che non riusciamo neanche a immaginare, e di performative criticism (forse vuol dire che un critico invece di scrivere si scatena in un dripping à la Pollock). Jill Soloway se ne frega di Derrida e della "fiction teoretica" — si dice cosi, tra i philosophes, quando una persecuzione amorosa produce abbastanza lettere da ricavarne un'opera d'arte alla Sophie Calle (la performer che ha arruolato 107 attrici per leggere il messaggio di un uomo che la piantò). Sposta la storia a Marfa, Texas, dove la coppia vive per qualche mese in una comunità di artiste, tutte femministe e tutte scatenate, molto somiglianti a Clara Charnofsky, prima moglie di Barney Panofsky in "La versione di Barney". Parlano di cross-pollination tra le arti, e intanto come Chris Kraus non riescono a staccare gli occhi da Dick, l'attore Kevin Bacon in versione — come si potrebbe dire? non viene in mente altra parola che "manzo"". NEWS - A(m)mazon, che concorrenza! Netflix sotto attacco dalla sempre più competitiva Prime Video

Amazon lancia definitivamente il guanto di sfida a Netflix sul video on demand. Da domenica gli americani possono abbonarsi al servizio Prime Video del gigante dell'e-commerce a 8,99 dollari al mese senza vincoli (al cambio attuale circa 8 euro) ovvero 1 dollaro in meno dell'abbonamento più diffuso di Netflix, quello in Hd che costa 10 dollari (per la definizione standard si parte invece da 7,99 dollari). Fino a questo momento Prime Video era un bonus inserito nel più generale Prime di Amazon, che costa 99 dollari all'anno e il cui principale servizio è la consegna degli ordini sul sito gratis in massimo due giorni più vari altri benefit, tra cui musica in streaming e una selezione di ebook. Dal momento che ogni mossa di Jeff Bezos è pesata e calcolata, evidentemente l'offerta video è ormai giudicata abbastanza competitiva rispetto a quella di Netflix e in grado di camminare da sola. Da un po' di tempo, infatti, Amazon ha cominciato a investire seriamente per acquisire diritti in esclusiva per Prime Video (Downton Abbey e Mr Robot, fra gli altri), ha direttamente prodotto serie come Mozart in the jungle e Transparent arruolando persino Woody Allen per una nuova serie che sarà lanciata quest'anno. Per giunta, lanciando un'offerta video separata dal resto, Bezos potrà ottenere un altro vantaggio (o forse è questo il principale motivo, chi lo sa): quello di far capire agli utenti il valore di un abbonamento tradizionale a Prime, che fatti i conti costa meno del solo video e offre di più. Non ci sono numeri sui clienti di Prime negli Usa, ma alcune stime parlano di 50/60 milioni di abbonati, dati comunque non significativi per capire quanti abbiano fatto l'abbonamento in primo luogo per i video. Analizzando l'utilizzo dei dati in rete, c'è chi ipotizza gli utenti reali di Prime Video siano il 10% di quelli di Netflix negli Usa, pari a 45,4 milioni a fine marzo. In Italia il servizio Prime consente di avere le consegne in un giorno su 1 milione di prodotti a 19,99 euro all'anno, ma non c'è ancora il video on demand, presente al di fuori degli Usa solo in Regno Unito e Germania. L'annuncio di Amazon è arrivato poche ore prima del rilascio della trimestrale di Netflix (avvenuto nella tarda serata di ieri quando questo giornale era chiuso in redazione), anche questa una mossa scaltra: quando si scoprirà se gli 1,75 milioni di abbonati netti in più negli Usa previsti dall'azienda saranno stati raggiunti, si parlerà molto anche della nuova sfida di Bezos.

GOSSIP - Tuxedo al Bacon. L'interprete di "The Following" si mette figo per "Haute Living" e si accorge della "golden age" della tv (ma vah???)
Kevin Bacon of "The Following" is handsome in a tuxedo for a feature in Haute Living‘s latest issue, out on newsstands now! Here’s what the 56-year-old actor had to share with the mag:
On the current state of TV: “This is the golden age of TV. I love TV [now]. It’s shifting in a really remarkable way. Creatively, it’s gotten better and better. What I think happened in part was that the writers got frustrated in that, if you write a film, unless you are a massive, massive writer—and even sometimes if you are—basically the director and actors take the years, it could have been AMC or FX, but it definitely couldn’t be network.”

On fame being good: “I always have to make it as clear as I possibly can that fame is 99.9 percent good. First off, I’ve always said before that there are two kind of actors: actors that want to be famous, and liars. You don’t become an actor because you want to hide in the shadows. When you sign up to be an actor, what you really sign up for is to act. On the other hand, you also don’t do it in a vacuum: you do it because you want to people to see it. You’re born to get in front of people, whether it’s on the screen or on the stage; you’re born to have people look at you and absorb you. I remember when I was a tiny little kid walking into the room thinking, ‘I hope that everyone is going to see me’ before I even knew what an actor was. All day long people say ‘I love you!’ at random. ‘Beep, beep Kev—I love you!’ What the f–k is wrong with that? That is amazing. People give you free shit for no reason, open doors, put you at good tables in restaurants, give you tickets to shows. Come on, to complain about it…

On his recent social experiment using a disguise: “When I did the prosthetic makeup thing, it was almost disturbing to me. People kind of looked right through me and weren’t nice to me. It didn’t feel that good, to tell you the truth. I’ve had [fame] for so long that I almost can’t really get my head around what my life would be like without it.”

NEWS - Su Premium Crime la capitale del crimine è Chicago (PD)! Nuove stagioni per "Sherlock", "The Following", "L&O:. unità speciale", "Rizzoli" e "The Mentalist"

IN ANTEPRIMA ASSOLUTA

“Chicago PD” (in anteprima assoluta su PREMIUM CRIME dall’8 ottobre), lo spin-off di “Chicago Fire” (Premium Action), conserva la firma DOC di Dick Wolf e accende i riflettori su un distretto della polizia di Chicago che mischia, come ogni buon poliziesco che si rispetti oggigiorno, pattuglia on the road e conflitti interiori. E’ stato girato nella stessa location del mitico “Hill Street giorno e notte” (1981) del quale il serial si candida ad essere la versione 2.0 e, come ha scritto il “New York Times”, “un ritorno ai polizieschi maschili vecchia maniera nonostante figure femminili toste in grado di tener testa ai colleghi”. Nel cast, Sophia Bush (“One Tree Hill”) e Elias Koteas (“The Killing”).

 

Nella schiera dei detective a puntate entra in squadra anche l’ispettore inglese Alan Banks (Stephen Tompkinson) di “DCI Banks”, tratto dalla saga best-seller omonima. La tenacia nelle indagini sono il distintivo del protagonista. In prima tv dal 20 settembre su PREMIUM CRIME.

I PROSEGUIMENTI DI CULTO IN PRIMA TV

 E’ stato “Sherlock” il titolo più premiato alla recente 66esima edizione degli Emmy Awards. Con 7 statuette conseguite, la miniserie di Steven Moffat attesa con la 5° stagione inedita su PREMIUM CRIME nel 2015. Tra i 7 premi ricevuti dalla serie interpretata da Benedict Cumberbatch, che proprio con “Sherlock” ha conosciuto popolarità planetaria, svettano tra quelli principali i primati di “miglior attore protagonista” di miniserie (a Cumberbatch stesso), alla “miglior sceneggiatura” (del curatore Steven Moffat), al “miglior attore non protagonista” in una miniserie (Martin Freeman). A completare la bacheca di trofei vinti da “Sherlock” anche quelli definiti “Creative Arts”: “outstanding music composition”, “outstanding sound editing”, “outstanding cinematography” e la “outstanding single-camera picture editing” in una miniserie/movie. I 7 Emmy Awards pareggiano i conti con gli altrettanti BAFTA inglesi (gli Oscar di Sua Maestà) e affollano la bacheca già ricca di 5 Royal Television Society, 2 Satellite Awards, il Critics Choice Award, il Television Critics Association Award, il Peabody Award.

Ci sono titoli che anticipano la realtà. E’ il caso clamoroso di “Person of Interest” – altra produzione di J.J. Abrams, in collaborazione con l’ideatore Jonathan Nolan – capace di prevedere la vicende del Datagate fin dal 2011. Nella serie che va in onda con la 4° stagione inedita su PREMIUM CRIME il 18 febbraio ogni singolo cittadino risulta 'person of interest', soggetto sotto controllo ed intercettazione per prevenire crimini e, originariamente, atti terroristici

Anche nel genere crime e nelle sue derivazioni le “strane coppie” funzionano. Sono due facce della stessa medaglia dark quelle di Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) e Joe Carroll (James Purefoy) lungo la 3° stagione inedita di “The Following”, in anteprima assoluta su PREMIUM CRIME prossimamente.

La detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) e la collega Amanda Rollins (Kelli Giddish) del longevo “Law&Order: unità speciale” pattugliano al femminile anche nell’inedita 15° stagione (su PREMIUM CRIME dal 3 ottobre). Cybill Shepherd, Rosanna Arquette e Bradley Whitford sono tra i cameo della stagione che annovera anche il cross-over, nella 15° puntata, con “Chicago PD” (PREMIUM CRIME).

Così come sono ormai coppie d’indagine “di fatto” quelle formate da Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) e Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney) di “The Mentalist” (la 7° stagione inedita su PREMIUM CRIME dal 31 gennaio) e da Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) e Maura Isles (Sasha Alexander) in “Rizzoli&Isles” (5° stagione inedita su PREMIUM CRIME dal 29 dicembre). La detective Sharon Raydor (Mary McDonnell) di “Major Crimes” (la 3° stagione inedita su PREMIUM CRIME dal 26 dicembre) sembra ormai essere sopravvissuta al fantasma di Brenda Johnson di “The Closer”, del quale la serie è spin-off.

Anche nella 2° stagione inedita della serie canadese “Motive” (PREMIUM CRIME dal 28 settembre) l’investigatrice mamma-single Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) deve scoprire i colpevoli mentre i telespettatori già li conoscono. Come in “Colombo”, il telefilm rivela da subito gli autori dell’omicidio, lasciando la detective nel dedalo investigativo per arrivare alla soluzione del caso mentre l’autore del delitto cerca in tutti i modi di sviare i sospetti. Il format è risultato vincente con la conferma della 3° stagione.

NEWS - Jessica Stroup, da "90210" a ago della bilancia di "The Following" 2 (stasera anteprima Premium Crime) 
Jessica Stroup è il volto nuovo, dagli occhi azzurri, da tener d’occhio nella seconda stagione di “The Following”, in onda in anteprima assoluta da stasera su Premium Crime (ogni lunedì in prima serata). L’ex protagonista di “90210” interpreterà Max, la nipote del detective (ormai ex) dell’FBI Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon), anch’essa nelle forze dell’ordine e, soprattutto, capace di donare serenità al tormentato zio tra una seduta all’alcolisti anonimi e l’altra. Essendo la serie firmata da Kevin Williamson, c’è da aspettarsi, naturalmente, che non sarà tutto rosa e fiori…Già modella della Carolina e testimonial della “Honda”, Jessica è passata dalle comparsate in “Grey’s Anatomy” e “True Blood” alla notorietà per il ruolo ricorrente di Erin Silver in “90210” (durante le riprese è stata accusata dai media di divulgare insieme alle altre protagoniste un’immagine distorta “pro-anoressia”, prontamente smentita). Fanatica di film horror (al cinema ha recitato in due pellicole del genere come “Le colline hanno gli occhi 2” e “Che la fine abbia inizio”), la potete sfidare a pallavolo o beach-volley, suo passatempo preferito che nell’adolescenza sfiorò i livelli agonistici.

GOSSIP - Valorie Curry, da "The Following" a icona di stile "dressed to kill" 

E' lei il volto-rivelazione di "The Following", la serie-evento del 2013 in onda in anteprima stasera su Premium Crime in prima serata. Valorie Curry, interprete della spietata Emma Hill col suo taglio sbarazzino e il sorriso a denti stretti che "uccidono" più di una lama al cuore, ha conquistato la curiosità di molti. Se sulla sua vita privata si sa al momento pochissimo - manco fosse ricercata come il suo personaggio nella serie di Kevin Williamson - sul suo profilo twitter (@valorie_curry) non si risparmia chiedendo ai/alle followers quanto sia "figo" Kevin Bacon. Già al cinema nella saga di "Twilight" ("Breaking Dawn"), pochi sanno che Curry è altresì un'icona di stile, anche grazie al fisico longilineo. "The Following" e l'eroe imperfetto

"Un professore di letteratura ossessionato da Edgar Allan Poe e un ex agente dell'Fbi con tutte le caratteristiche dell'eroe imperfetto. Da questo scontro di personalità nasce «The Following», un telefilm ideato e scritto da Kevin Williamson, già creatore di «Scream» e della serie di culto generazionale «Dawson's creek» (sabato on demand su Premium Play e dal 4 febbraio su Sky 1 e Premium Crime). Il telefilm racconta la storia di un serial killer, Joe Carroll, professore universitario che ha ucciso quattordici delle sue studentesse al college, ed è stato condannato alla pena di morte. Il merito della sua cattura è dell'agente dell'Fbi Ryan Hardy (interpretato da Kevin Bacon, al suo esordio nella serialità televisiva), che dalla resa dei conti con il killer è uscito ferito nel corpo e devastato nella psiche. Poco prima dell'esecuzione, Joe Carroll evade dal carcere lasciandosi alle spalle una scia di sangue e deciso a completare l'opera lasciata in sospeso. Così Hardy è richiamato in servizio e costretto a dargli la caccia di nuovo. Gli aspetti più interessanti della serie sono due. Primo, il continuo riferimento alla letteratura (le citazioni da Poe, il romanzo scritto dal serial killer, il libro di true-crime dell'agente Fbi), che diventa infine la vera matrice del piano criminale di Carroll. E poi l'evocazione dei fantasmi più cupi (e spesso stereotipati) dell'immaginario collettivo sui nuovi media: l'assassino trova complici alla sua follia su Internet, e grazie al web addestra i suoi seguaci, perversi followers che ne emulano le gesta. Al di là di questi riferimenti, «The Following» è un thriller convenzionale, a tratti quasi prevedibile. Sono l'interpretazione di Bacon e una certa atmosfera livida e tesa a dettare il tono del racconto, a catturare irrimediabilmente lo spettatore".

NEWS - Achtung, arriva LA serie del 2013! Da domani anche in Italia "The Following" col fattore K (Kevin Williamson+Kevin Bacon)... 

In America si contano attualmente 300 serial-killer. E se fossero tutti linkati, se esistesse una rete di collegamento tra di loro, se il loro istinto omicida fosse condiviso? E se usassero internet e i social network per mandarsi messaggi, codici cifrati, dettagli, per alimentare "followers" e "mi piace"...?
"The Following" è la serie-evento del 2013 firmata da Kevin Williamson che debutta domani, sabato 2 febbraio in anteprima su Premium Play e poi dal 4 febbraio su Premium Crime (in prima serata) e SkyUno (seconda serata in HD). Poi dalla settimana successiva, prima il lunedì su Premium Crime e successivamente il martedì su SkyUno.

L'ex agente del F.B.I. Ryan Hardy (interpetrato da Kevin Bacon, al suo debutto seriale) viene richiamato all'indagine dopo l'evasione di Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), il diabolico serial-killer che aveva arrestato 9 anni prima dopo l'uccisione di 14 studentesse in un'università della Virginia dove insegnava letteratura con la passione per Edgar Allan Poe. Esperto nell'analisi dei profili psicologici, Hardy si getta sulle tracce dell'assassino che nel frattempo ha iniziato ad utilizzare i social network per alimentare una sorta di macabro culto degli omicidi seriali, una rete di killer che rischia di spandersi per tutto il Paese...Hardy conosce Carroll come nessuno. Lo ha seguito, studiato, gli è entrato dentro. Forse lo ha svuotato. Il duello più intellettuale che fisico con Carroll si è fatto sentire. L'Hardy di 9 anni prima non è più lo stesso. La nuova caccia diventa una sorta di redenzione. 

Per fermare Carroll e arginare la sua furia omicida che rischia di diventare social, il detective protagonista si fa affiancare dagli agenti Debra Parker (Annie Parisse) e il giovane Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore). Natalie Zea interpreta Claire Matthews, la donna contesa da Hardy e Carroll in una...sfida nella sfida. Come se non bastasse il carisma del serial-killer fa proseliti e la prevenzione alla sua lucida follia deve essere a tutto campo in una lotta contro il tempo in cui è difficile capire di chi fidarsi... 

Definito in partenza uno "psychological drama", il serial vanta la firma da ideatore e produttore di Kevin Williamson, già dietro i successi di serie tv come The Vampire Diaries e Dawson's Creek nonchè di film thriller di culto come la saga di Scream. Uno degli autori più appassionati di metalinguaggio del piccolo schermo americano - solo nella puntata pilota di Dawson's Creek si sono contate 46 citazioni cinematografiche tra Psycho, Il mostro della Laguna Nera e l'auto-riferimento a Scream - Williamson ha promesso di mettere in scena "una storia che vi terrà inchiodata alla poltrona nonostante i sobbalzi". 

Bacon, al suo esordio assoluto in un telefilm, ha rinunciato per l'occasione allo storico rifiuto per il piccolo schermo: "aspettavo da tempo un progetto interessante e questo rientra nella mia passione per le storie in bilico tra la vita e la morte...". Si dice che Bacon abbia comunque imposto un limite di 15 puntate per la prima stagione, per poter proseguire nelle pause la propria carriera cinematografica. Tanto per dire, nel 2013 l'attore sarà nelle sale con due film già annunciati: Skum Rocks!, sorta di Rock of Ages indipendente con la voce narrante di Alice Cooper e RIPD, pellicola "ai confini della realtà" in cui il nostro affianca Jeff Bridges e Ryan Reynolds nei panni di un poliziotto che torna in vita per scoprire chi l'ha ucciso. 

Ancor prima di partire, la serie è stata eletta "la più attesa del 2013", oltre che dalla stampa americana all'unisono, da un sondaggio tra gli oltre 1000 iscritti dell'Accademia dei Telefilm su Facebook (tanto per rimanere in tema social...). Oltre a Williamson, la serie è prodotta da Marcos Siega. Tra le guest-stars si fa notare Maggie Grace di Lost. John Frizzell compone la colonna sonora. Le riprese sono avvenute ad Atlanta.

NEWS - Non solo "Dallas". Mediaset(ris): "The Carrie Diaries", "The Following" e verso la "Revolution" di JJ Abrams...
(Ansa) Non solo Dallas. In attesa dell'arrivo del sequel in autunno su Canale 5, Mediaset si e' aggiudicata una coppia d'assi pescata nel mazzo delle serie tv piu' attese della prossima stagione. Ovvero: The Carrie Diaries, il prequel di Sex and the City ambientato negli anni '80, e The Following, che vede il debutto di Kevin Bacon da protagonista di telefilm. Secondo alcune voci, Mediaset starebbe anche puntando su Revolution, la nuova creatura (apocalittica) firmata da quel gran genio di J.J. Abrams. 

The Carrie Diaries, in onda su Mya nel 2013, vede Carrie Bradshaw nei panni di una 'gossip girl' negli anni '80 pre-Manolo nella serie che compie un flashback nell'adolescenza della protagonista di Sex and the City. Tra trucchi appariscenti, 'Studio 54', mega-spalline come se piovessero e pettinature vistose, il ruolo della protagonista e' stato affidato alla 18enne Anna Sophia Robb, la quale ha ricevuto i complimenti e l'incoraggiamento da Sarah Jessica Parker, colei che ha reso Carrie un'icona extra-televisiva. La firma di Josh Schwartz, gia' dietro ai successi teen di The OC e Gossip Girl, e' un segno di garanzia.

Come se non bastasse, Mediaset sta anche puntando a Revolution, forse il serial piu' atteso della nuova stagione non fosse altro per la firma di J.J.
