And King Arthur is appealing in the test screenings much more to women than men – so I feel that even though I play hyper-masculine roles, I’ve always been well-received by the female audience.”

Charlie Hunnam was the original choice to play human doorknob Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey, but he (wisely, considering the final product) exited the project due to scheduling issues. “It was the worst professional experience of my life,” the Sons of Anarchy star said. “It was the most emotionally destructive and difficult thing that I’ve ever had to deal with professionally. It was heartbreaking.” If Hunnam got that worked up over Grey, imagine how he feels about turning down a role in Game of Thrones. While promoting the nü-metal epic King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Hunnam told the Sun, “I would love to do a Game of Thrones cameo. They offered me a cameo on that show a little while ago, but I was shooting something else, so I wasn’t able to do it. But maybe in the future, who knows.” Between Thrones (where he’d be a natural fit for the Night’s Watch — he’s also not afraid to show his butt, which is helpful for this show) and a potential appearance on the Sons spinoff Mayans MC, Hunnam has a hypothetically busy future. He’s also reportedly in the running to replace Daniel Craig as the next 007. “I can say two things,” he said on Conan. “I’m English and I look devilishly handsome in a suit. I can say three things… and nobody has called me about playing James Bond, so I’m pretty sure that’s not going to happen.” There’s always the Undeclared reunion special. His accent’s gotten better.

Charlie Hunnam is featured on a new poster for his upcoming film The Lost City of Z and he sure is looking hot as an explorer! The 36-year-old actor stars alongside Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller, and Tom Holland in the new film, set to hit theaters in limited release on April 14 and nationwide on April 21. The Lost City of Z tells the incredible true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett (Hunnam), who journeys into the Amazon at the dawn of the 20th century and discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilization that may have once inhabited the region. Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment who regard indigenous populations as “savages,” the determined Fawcett – supported by his devoted wife (Miller), son (Holland) and aide-de-camp (Pattinson) – returns time and again to his beloved jungle in an attempt to prove his case, culminating in his mysterious disappearance in 1925.

Charlie Hunnam of Sons of Anarchy is smoldering in this first look at his character King Arthur on the cover of EW magazine’s latest issue! “He’s a little bit rough around the edges, but he’s basically a survivor. He’s a hustler,” the 35-year-old actor told the mag. “He’s a street kid. There’s definitely a harder edge to him than people would imagine. It’s sort of classic Guy Ritchie stuff”. “I think where the pitfall has often been is trying to make King Arthur bland and nice, and nice and bland,” director Guy Ritchie added. “The two qualities make rather compatible bed companions. Unfortunately, they’re not interesting to watch. Luke Skywalker was always the most uninteresting character in Star Wars because he’s the good guy. Good guys are boring.”

EXCLUSIVE: Snake Plissken is back! Fox has emerged from competitive bidding and closed a deal to remake the 1981 John Carptenter-directed cult classic Escape From New York. Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman’s The Picture Company will produce. The original was released by Avco Embassy, and the rights were own by Studiocanal. Carpenter will be an executive producer and will exert creative influence over the project. Fox’s Mike Ireland brought it in and will steer. The hope is to reinvent the property with an eye toward launching a new franchise. In the original, Kurt Russell played Plissken, an eyepatch-sporting tough guy who is conscripted to rescue the president of the United States after Air Force One — en route to a summit that could head off WWIII — goes missing after it crashes in New York, which has been relegated to a maximum security prison. Plissken, a former special forces operative convicted of trying to rob the Federal Reserve, is given 22 hours to liberate the president and a tape he carries which holds the key to peace. If he fails, he’s wired to explode. The cynical original, hatched by Carpenter after the Watergate scandal, was set in a futuristic Gotham circa 1997. There have been remake overtures before, but not with Carpenter involved. New Line tried it with Neal Moritz. It’s the second producing project set up by The Picture Company, after they set Nottingham And Hood at Disney. TPC has a deal with Studiocanal. While there was a spate of rumors earlier this fall that the film was about to be cast with the likes of Sons Of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam, I’m told those rumors amounted to wishful thinking by fans, because there was no rights deal made until now, and there is no script. They are starting from scratch. That said, the notion of Hunnam playing the Snake, or Chris Hemsworth who was another one rumored, seems like pretty inspired ideas from here. I saw Russell at an AFM buyers event for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, and he certainly looked robust though you can’t do a remake with the original guy.
All of that is fantasy league stuff and the reality comes down the road when they hire a scribe and a filmmaker and the studio gets a script it likes. Who else is worth considering for Plissken?

What, can’t a basic cable drama have nearly three-minute long graphic sex montage showing nearly every major member of its cast engaged in all sorts of lusty hardcore acts?

Apparently not without angering a certain parents group.
The Parents Television Council is unloading on FX’s Sons of Anarchy, which opened last Tuesday’s episode with a series of sex scenes. The sequence rather effectively illustrated the widely varying range emotional states and romantic relationships of the main characters—while also serving up a hearty eyeful of Charlie Hunnam’s bare butt.
The scene featured six couples indulging in various acts (and one character giving herself solo pleasure) and was dubbed “the f–ktage” by show insiders.

“It’s official: In order to watch cable news, ESPN, Disney or the History Channel, every family in America must now also pay for pornography on FX,” said PTC president Tim Winter. “Last week’s episode of Sons of Anarchy opened with the most sexually explicit content we’ve ever seen on basic cable, content normally found on premium subscription networks like HBO or Showtime … If FX wants to be like HBO and air this kind of explicit content, then they should become a premium network … Families should not be forced to underwrite pornography. Cable Choice is a solution whose time has come, and there could hardly be a better example of it than this.”
FX declined to comment and show creator Kurt Sutter had no immediate comment. It’s worth noting that the series airs at 10 p.m. and FX runs a TV-MA advisory warning before the show and after every commercial break.
The PTC has decried a wide range of TV subjects, from the decidedly silly (protesting Adult Swim for making cartoons for adults, and MTV for what Nicki Minaj might do at the VMAs) to the arguably valid (inaccurate content ratings; ABC segueing from a Charlie Brown special into a Scandal sex scene).
The organization previously targeted SOA last year, when the show had a sequence involving a school shooting. At the time, Sutter responded: “The PTC—I would imagine these are not evil people, but they’re just not very intelligent or intuitive people. … The fact that these people want to be monitoring what my children watch is terrifying … whenever that stuff crosses the line into censorship, it’s just scary, not just on a creative level but on a personal level.”

La scelta del protagonista maschile di “Cinquanta sfumature di grigio” si sta rivelando una saga più lunga di quella letteraria. Charlie Hunnam, prescelto tempo fa per interpretare Christian Grey, ha rifiutato qualche ora fa la parte per “sopraggiunte difficoltà con le riprese del serial ‘Sons of Anarchy’” che lo vede in prima fila nel cast. Secondo “Variety”, il passo indietro dell’attore potrebbe risiedere nella valanga di proteste del pubblico (e dei fans della serie tv) che non avevano apprezzato la scelta caduta su Hunnam.

A questo punto, a quanto rivela Qui Mediaset (www.quimediaset.it), i riflettori potrebbero tornare ad accendersi su Stephen Amell di “Arrow” (la seconda stagione inedita andrà in onda su Premium Action dal 22 ottobre). L’interprete della serie tv più vista nella stagione scorsa in Italia (oltre 3 milioni e mezzo di spettatori su Italia 1) è stato il primo nome comparire pubblicamente tra i candidati (lo ha ammesso egli stesso su Facebook). Secondo alcune voci, tra l’altro, Hunnam avrebbe declinato l’offerta all’improvviso per via di una sceneggiatura che prevedeva scene a tinte forti (non che in “Sons of Anarchy” l’attore si sia mai tirato indietro…). Amell vanta di suo, di contro, una spregiudicatezza altresì nelle scene di nudo già messa in mostra nella serie a sfondo omosessuale “Queer as Folk”.

Amell, attualmente sul set delle riprese della seconda stagione di “Arrow”, per vestire i panni di Christian Grey dovrebbe fare gli straordinari o lasciare maggior spazio, nel serial campione d’ascolti, al personaggio di Flash (interpretato da Grant Gustin), originariamente previsto per tre episodi e già in procinto di dar vita ad uno spin-off.

L’unica certezza del film tratto dal best-seller di E.L. James, atteso nelle sale ad agosto, resta al momento la protagonista femminile Dakota Johnson nei panni di Anastasia Steele. Sempre “Variety” stila una lista di candidati extra-Amell in cui compaiono tra gli altri Ian Somerhalder di “The Vampire Diaries”, Matt Bomer di “White Collar”, Alexander Skarsgard di "True Blood" e Theo James di “Golden Boy”.
