GOSSIP - Fiori d'arancio a "Gotham"! Ben McKenzie e Morena Baccarin si sono sposati!

A major congrats is in order for Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin of "Gotham"! The 38-year-old actors tied the knot on Friday (June 2) – her birthday – at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens in Brooklyn, N.Y., a source close to the couple confirms to JustJared.com. They were “joined by family members and close friends for the small, intimate ceremony,” according to People. That weekend, Ben‘s former on-screen brother from The O.C., Logan Marshall-Green, posted a photo of them together, writing, “So proud of this guy. Here is to you @mrbenmckenzie”. Ben and Morena were first linked back in September 2015 and welcomed a daughter, Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan, in March 2016. Congrats to the happy couple on the exciting news!

What is the tone of the relationship between Leslie Thompkins and James Gordon after everything they went through?

I think Leslie’s been left a little rattled after her last experience with Barbara Kean [played by Erin Richards]. But she’s a very a strong person and they are both survivors. They are trying to deal with the hand they were dealt. He’s in a bit of a dark spot, so I think there’s going to be a little bit of a push/pull into that world of darkness this season as they see if they can come out and survive. He’s going to be going through quite a lot, so we’ll see if they’re able to survive it – and where his priorities lie. I would guess that it’s going to be very complicated.

Are you the light pulling Gordon away from the darkness?

I don’t know if light is the right word. She’s supportive, but she’s also got her own things that she’s grappling with. The Gotham world is a difficult world!

Would you agree that there’s a darker tone to the show this year?

Essentially, I think every character is going to be tested a lot this season. There’s a lot more darkness everywhere. I think a lot of the characters are going to be deciding which side they’re on.

Does this mean there will be lots of internal battles as well as physical battles?

There’s a great film noir saying: ‘Looking into darkness and darkness looking into you.’ I think that’s what everybody’s going to be dealing with this season. Who is able to flirt with that and extricate themselves and not get sucked into the evilness of it? I think that every character is going to have that a little bit this year.

Leslie Thompkins is one of the strongest female characters in the GCPD. What is that like to play?

It’s fantastic. It’s really great. I love how smart the show is written. I like that it pushes the boundaries and that it goes into the dark places. 

How would you describe Leslie’s role in the show?

Well, the season one storyline for my character was very simple – I was brought into the show to be a love interest for Gordon, so they planted that seed very early. It developed into quite an interesting relationship where they were supportive of each other, and he had a little bit of light in a very dark world. She brought a little bit of humour to him and a bit of lightness, and then they became very good partners and very good comrades. She then started working at the Gotham City Police Department, which melded their worlds together a little bit more, so we’ll see where that goes from here.

In the comic, Leslie creates her own medical clinic. Will we see any of that in Gotham?

Eventually, I think so. I’m not really sure what their plan is with the whole arc for this character, but she does form other relationships apart from just the Jim and Leslie relationship.

How much do you enjoy the action scenes?

I like them. I think they’re fun. I don’t like to get hurt, but it can be fun.

Are you yourself a comic fan? As well as this role, you voiced Gideon in The Flash…

I am a fan in the sense that I grew up with a brother who read a lot of the comics, so they were always around the house. I do love the genre, but I haven’t read the Batman comics, so if you asked me about rare characters, I wouldn’t know them.

How much do you enjoy filming in New York?

It’s great, especially in the summer months. When it gets into the winter, it’s not so great. The writers forget about the cold of New York because they live in LA. They write all these exterior night scenes where we’re out there all night long, freezing our butts off. The look of New York is very Gotham – and they do such a great job of using all the really great buildings and gritty locations for the show. It’s great. 

GOSSIP - Da Gotham a Parigi! Due sere prima degli attentati Ben McKenzie e Morena Baccarin erano nella capitale francese (idealmente)

Due sere prima del fatidico venerdì 13 degli attacchi terroristici, Ben McKenzie e Morena Baccarin di “Gotham” (2° stagione inedita su Premium Action dal 27 gennaio) si trovavano idealisticamente a Parigi. La coppia del serial che debutterà in chiaro su Italia 1 da metà dicembre ha esordito sotto i flash dei paparazzi dopo l’annuncio di aspettare un bambino (Baccarin era in evidente stato interessante). L’occasione è stata l’evento “A Night Of Comedy and Climate Action” organizzato dal Sierra Club’s Act al The Heath del McKittrick Hotel di New York per sensibilizzare le Nazioni Unite al cambiamento climatico mondiale in vista del prossimo congresso parigino del 30 novembre. Quest’ultimo, a quanto risulta, si terrà nonostante il terrore disseminato per la capitale francese.

Gotham co-stars Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin are reportedly planning to get married amid the news that they are expecting a baby together.
“Today, I am in a new committed relationship. I am planning to re-marry. Also, I am 3 1/2 months pregnant,” Morena‘s divorce documents read (via TMZ). Morena is in the middle of a divorce from her ex Austin Chick.
Morena and Austin have a one-year-old son together. Morena apparently has told the judge in her divorce case, “This entire situation is not funny to me.”
Congrats to the happy couple on the news of their possible engagement!

NEWS - Clamoroso al Cibali! "The OC" diventa un musical!

Seth, Summer, Ryan and Marissa will reunite through song and dance in a musical version of seminal mid-2000s teen drama “The O.C.”. A product of the same team behind “Cruel Intentions: The Musical,” “The O.C.” musical will be adapted and directed by Jordan Ross, with Lindsey Rosin producing. The one-night-only event will go down in Los Angeles on August 30. At this point, only the roles of Luke Ward, Kirsten Cohen and Josh Schwartz have been cast. That’s right: the show’s creator will be a character in this musical, although not a singing one. Schwartz’s series ran on Fox from 2003 to 2007 and revolved around a herd of wealthy, dramatic teenagers living in Orange County, Calif. The series is responsible for launching the careers of Adam Brody, Rachel Bilson and Mischa Barton. Tate Donovan, Peter Gallagher, Kelly Rowan and Ben McKenzie also starred. News of the Newport Beach reunion comes on the heels of the confirmation that a “Clueless” musical is also in development. Will “Gossip Girl” be next?

"Una metropoli dalle tinte scure, soffocante, piena di ombre e priva di luci che non siano artificiali. Un agglomerato caotico di vicoli e sopraelevate. Questa è Gotham, alter ego immaginario dell'iper-reale New York, come si è costruita nei fumetti della DC Comics, nei tre film di Christopher Nolan e ora in una serie tv, «Gotham» appunto, in onda negli Stati Uniti su Fox e in Italia a poca distanza su Premium Action (ogni lunedì, alle 21), dopo l'anteprima in chiaro su Italia 1. Il telefilm, scritto da Bruno Heller (già autore di «Roma» e «The Mentalist»), tiene Batman fuori dallo schermo e dagli eventi narrati, per concentrarsi su quanto è avvenuto prima, sulle origini del mito. L'uccisione dei facoltosi coniugi Wayne di fronte agli occhi del piccolo Bruce, il futuro Cavaliere Oscuro, e la ricerca del colpevole tra depistaggi e false piste, ma non solo: il giovane detective James Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie, già in «The OC» e «Southland»), in coppia con il ben più scafato e disilluso Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), si muove in un sottobosco criminale fatto di degrado e corruzione, in una città allo sbando e senza punti di riferimento, in mano al boss criminale don Falcone. L'idea del prequel però da sola non basta: se le scene e la fotografia sono molto curate, la scrittura e la recitazione non sono sempre all'altezza. E i richiami costanti alla mitologia di Batman si affacciano sullo schermo, ancora giovani o bambini, molti dei suoi futuri nemici: il Pinguino, l'Enigmista, Catwoman sono forse l'indice più evidente di una narrazione che non trova appieno una sua originalità, ma è costretta a lanciare continue strizzate d'occhio ai fan per risultare interessante". NEWS - Quando Batman portava i pantaloni corti...Al via da domenica l'atteso "Gotham", in volo cross-casting da Italia 1 a Premium Action con una Bat-fune!

Anche Batman è stato ragazzo. Ha vissuto un’adolescenza fortunata, racchiusa nelle pareti dorate della famiglia Wayne. Fino al giorno in cui i genitori sono stati uccisi e il suo destino è diventato quello di battersi per la giustizia nei panni del Cavaliere Oscuro. Arriva finalmente in Italia la serie più attesa dell’anno, capostipite di una “new wave” di serie tv ispirate ai fumetti che invaderanno il piccolo schermo nella nuova stagione. “Gotham”, il serial che racconta le origini dell’Uomo Pipistrello, parte su Italia 1 domenica 12 ottobre in prima serata con i primi due episodi in anteprima, per poi passare su Premium Action dal 20 ottobre, ogni lunedì sempre in prima serata. E’ la prima volta che una serie tv viene trasmessa in “cross-casting” da un canale free a uno pay. In coincidenza con i 75 anni di “Batman”, “Gotham” è la pù grande scommessa televisiva d’Oltreoceano degli ultimi anni. Per diversi motivi. 
Travalica il fumetto della DC Comics apparso per la prima volta nel 1939 squarciando le tenebre della metropoli del titolo - la più famosa dell’immaginario a strisce - che hanno avvolto le origini dei personaggi.
Manda in soffitta la storica serie tv del 1966 dove, come scrisse “Tv Guide”, “il super-eroe protagonista e i suoi antagonisti sfoggiano tutine talmente variopinte che le scorgeresti in una notte di nebbia fitta senza luna”. 
Prende il testimone dalla recente saga cinematografica di successo di Christopher Nolan, adottando effetti molto speciali e portando alla ribalta la figura secondaria, nei fumetti, del detective James Gordon, interpretato su grande schermo da Gary Oldman nella sua fase adulta. 
Non per niente è stata definita dalla prestigiosa Television Critics Association “the most promising new series of the upcoming season” e dal prestigioso “Hollywood Reporter” quale “the highly anticipated tv show of the season”. Tanto per dire, ancor prima di partire in America, il telefilm si è aggiudicato l’influente Critics Choice Television Award quale “most exciting new series”.  

A Gotham City il giovane detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) viene incaricato dell’omicidio più sconvolgente avvenuto nella metropoli, ovvero l’assassinio di Thomas e Martha Wayne sotto gli occhi del figlio Bruce (David Mazouz). E’ con quest’ultimo che Gordon intreccia un legame che condurrà alla scoperta del killer, non prima di venire in contatto con il sottobosco in fermento della città dalle lunghe ombre: la boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith); Oswald Cobblepot, futuro “Pinguino” (Robin Lord Taylor); Selina Kyle, destinata a diventare “Catwoman” (Camren Bicondova); il giovane Enigmista, alias dottor Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith); la futura Poison Ivy ancora sotto le spoglie di Ivy Pepper (Clare Foley). Non mancheranno le prime malefatte di Joker (il personaggio più avvolto nel mistero dalla produzione con l’intento di creare l’attesa) e la presenza del maggiordomo Alfred (Sean Pertwee), colui alla quale viene affidata la tutela del giovane orfano Bruce Wayne, prossimo Cavaliere Oscuro. Completano il quadro, il capitano della polizia Sarah Essen (Zabryna Guevara) e il detective Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue), partner d’indagini di Gordon. 
La serie verrà trasmessa su Premium Action in accoppiata, dal 20 ottobre, con un altro titolo cult dei fumetti quale “Arrow”, giunto alla 3° stagione inedita e ad oggi il telefilm più visto in Italia negli ultimi anni (al suo passaggio su Italia 1 ha superato quota 3 milioni e mezzo di spettatori). Sempre Premium Action farà tris nel marzo 2015 con l’arrivo di “The Flash” (anch’esso tratto da un fumetto della DC Comics), atteso spin-off di “Arrow” con al centro il super-eroe più veloce dell’universo. 

La serie firmata da Bruno Heller, ideatore di “The Mentalist”, è stata lanciata con il claim ad effetto “The Good. The Evil. The Beginning”. Il protagonista di “Gotham”, è rimasto ferito sul set. Benjamin McKenzie, già front-man del cult generazionale “The OC”, si è ferito sulla fronte nel corso delle riprese durante le quali, lo stesso McKenzie, ha rifiutato la controfigura. Le immagini della ferita e del ricovero le ha postate lo stesso attore su Instagram. McKenzie ha commentato con la seguente didascalia le foto: “Una sequenza di combattimento andata male! Un cavolo di muro troppo vero, Batman!”. Il caso vuole che l’incidente sia avvenuto il giorno del compleanno dell’interprete messosi in evidenza anche nella serie poliziesca “Southland”.

Questo lo spunto che ispira 'Gotham', nuova serie in arrivo in prima serata su Italia 1 il 12 ottobre con i primi due episodi, prima di passare a Mediaset Premium Action dal 20 ottobre con una puntata ogni lunedi'. Creata da Bruno Heller ('The Mentalist'), 'Gotham' e' uno degli eventi piu' attesi della stagione tv americana e non solo: al centro del racconto e' Gotham stessa, vista con gli occhi di un giovane detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie, gia' Ryan di 'The O.C.') che si scontra con gli ingranaggi di una citta' corrotta e in guerra con il crimine. Il primo episodio, mostrato ieri in anteprima alla stampa, parte senza preamboli dall'evento che mettera' in moto non solo le vicende della serie ma tutto l'universo immaginario di Gotham, l'omicidio dei coniugi Wayne di fronte al piccolo Bruce (David Mazouz). 'Gotham' e' una 'origins story' particolare, anche grazie all'inserimento di nuovi personaggi come la boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith): lo spettatore vedra' nascere non tanto Batman, ma il mito della citta' oscura di cui egli e' eroe. Con 'Gotham' Mediaset Premium Action si appresta a diventare la casa dell'universo DC: dal 20 ottobre con la terza stagione di 'Arrow' (versione originale in contemporanea con gli USA, poi anche su Italia 1), quindi da marzo con la nuova 'The Flash'. NEWS - Clamoroso a Gotham! Ben-Bat McKenzie si è ferito alla testa (o meglio dire che l'ha bat-tuta?!)

Ben McKenzie (Southland, The OC), who plays a young James Gordon in a pre-Batman Gotham City on the highly anticipated Fox drama Gotham, suffered a head injury on the show's set on Friday. Us Weekly had previously reported the news.
McKenzie posted a photo to Instagram of himself with a gash on his forehead. "Fight sequence gone awry," McKenzie captioned the photo. "Don't ram your head into concrete pillars, kids. #gotham." He added: "Holy concrete wall, Batman!" McKenzie also pointed out that the incident happened on his birthday.
Luckily, McKenzie was able to get stitched up, and he thanked the doctor who treated him. McKenzie plans to resume filming the show on Monday.
Prior to this, the news surrounding Gotham had been largely positive. The show was recently named the most promising new series of the upcoming fall season in a poll by the Television Critics Association, and, in an unprecedented move, Netflix snatched up the rights to the show prior to its premiere. Gotham makes its debut Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. on Fox.

"In what is believed to be the first SVOD deal for a broadcast series made before its premiere, Netflix has reached an agreement with Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution for the upcoming Fox drama series Gotham. Under the pact, Netflix will become the exclusive subscription video on demand home of the Warner Bros. TV-produced Batman prequel in the U.S. as well as in each of the territories in which the streaming network operates and select other territories in which it plans to launch services. Each season of the series will be available to Netflix members following their broadcast run. In the U.S. that is expected to be in September 2015, coinciding with the potential Season 2 premiere. Noone is discussing figures, but I hear the deal is worth about $1.75 million an episode. The unprecedented deal was put in motion shortly after the Gotham pilot had a great reception at the L.A. international screenings in May. I hear Netflix approached WBWTD about a pact that would cover multiple territories. That was a very tricky proposition as WBWTD has different agreements in each country, with the terms of the output deals, including holdback rights against SVOD releases, varying from territory to territory. After laying the groundwork country by country, the two sides have been able to clear the show in all Netflix markets around the world.  The pact builds on Warner Bros.’ existing relationship with Netflix, which includes another precedent-setting pact that covers all CW series. The Gotham deals comes on the heels of Netflix nabbing Sony TV-produced hit NBC drama The Blacklist for $2 million an episode. Sony also made a deal similar to the Gotham one for its upcoming Breaking Bad prequel, Better Call Saul, which airs on cable on AMC. In it, Netflix gets first window in territories outside of the U.S.

Premiering on September 22 on Fox in the US, Gotham draws on the origin story of Batman, taking place in Gotham City as young Detective (and future Commissioner) James Gordon and the recently orphaned Bruce Wayne meet in the troubled days before the arrival of the Dark Knight. The series follows Gordon’s rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner as he navigates the layers of corruption that secretly rule Gotham City. The cast includes Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett Smith and Sean Pertwee. “Gotham is the most anticipated new series of the fall season and we are thrilled to offer it to our members around the world,” said Ted Sarandos, Chief Content Officer at Netflix. “The Batman origin story is sure to have massive global appeal so it is fitting that, along with Warner Television, we have created a new model for distributing a show that international and domestic audiences will love.

NEWS/ANTEPRIMA - Mediaset-te-te! Le 8 serie da non perdere della stagione autunno/inverno

Alla presentazione dei #PalinsestiMediaset di scorsa settimana sono stati snocciolati i titoli seriali in onda sulle Reti Mediaset nella prossima stagione. Spulciando fior da fiore ecco 8 petali seriali da sfogliare dall’autunno e da segnare in agenda.

1. “Gotham” (in anteprima assoluta su Premium Action in contemporanea Usa, le prime 2 puntate su Italia 1) – Il prequelissimo deluxe delle gesta di Batman, con il ragazzino che diverrà uomo-pipistrello ancora adolescente, è visto attraverso gli occhi del detective James Gordon (interpretato da Ben McKenzie di “The OC”), figura di secondo piano nei fumetti e riabilitato di recente dalla saga dei film di Christoper Nolan. Anche gli altri personaggi sono raccontati in nuce: da Catwoman a Joker, da Pinguino a Poison Ivy, fino al fedele maggiordomo Alfred. Firma Bruno Heller, ideatore di “The Mentalist”. Per la prima volta nel piccolo schermo una serie tv sarà trasmessa in cross-casting: le prime due puntate su Italia 1 (in prima serata) con tanto di count-down con i film in 1°TV di Nolan (“Batman Begins”, “Il Cavaliere Oscuro”, “Il Cabaliere Oscuro-Il Ritorno”), poi con un battito d’ali su Premium Action. 
2. “Orange Is The New Black” (su Mya in prima visione tv dal 23 settembre, la 1° e la 2° stagione) – La serie più attesa della stagione, la più popolare/celebrata/twittata d’America, è a detta della sua ideatrice “un diapason della violenza femminile”. Nel carcere di donne al centro delle vicende si ride e si piange, si soffre, ma soprattutto si vive. Si tratta di uno dei titoli seriali di cui la stampa americana si è occupata maggiormente nell’ultima stagione – sia per i temi affrontati che per l’alta qualità di messa in scena – non da ultima l’ultima copertina del prestigioso “Entertainment Weekly” in edicola che lo ha definito letteralmente “strangest, kinkiest and most surprising hit on tv”. 

3. “The 100” (in anteprima assoluta su Premium Action dal 10 settembre) – I 100 del titolo sono i detenuti di una stazione spaziale rimandati sulla Terra per verificarne le condizioni per tornarci a vivere dopo una guerra nucleare. Scopriranno che esistono “sopravvissuti” e metteranno in discussione  le proprie certezze terrestri. La serie con Isaiah Washington (“Grey’s Anatomy”) e l’australiana emergente Eliza Taylor-Cotter è già stata rinnovata per la 2° stagione. 
4. “The Last Ship” (in anteprima assoluta su Italia 1 dall’autunno) – Un virus che ha decimato l’umanità può essere combattutto solo dall’equipaggio di una nave della Marina con a bordo 217 membri. Eric Dane di “Grey’s Anatomy” al timone di una delle serie-sorpresa della stagione; Rhona Mitra e Adam Baldwin tra gli altri volti noti. Firma Michael Bay, regista-produttore della cine-saga sbancabotteghini di “Transformers”. 
5. “Chicago PD” (in anteprima assoluta su Premium Crime dall’8 ottobre) – Lo spin-off di “Chicago Fire” (Premium Action) conserva la firma DOC di Dick Wolf e accende i riflettori su un distretto della polizia di Chicago che mischia, come ogni buon poliziesco che si rispetti oggigiorno, pattuglia on the road e conflitti interiori. E’ stato girato nella stessa location del mitico “Hill Street giorno e notte” (1981) del quale il serial si candida ad essere la versione 2.0 e, come ha scritto il “New York Times”, “un ritorno ai polizieschi maschili vecchia maniera nonostante figure femminili toste in grado di tener testa ai colleghi”. Nel cast, Sophia Bush (“One Tree Hill”) e Elias Koteas (“The Killing”). 

6.  “Undateable” (in anteprima assoluta su Joi dall’autunno) -  Secondo i critici Usa è già LA sit-com dell’anno. Un gruppo di “Friends” sulla trentina si ritrova ad essere, per un motivo o per l’altro, non…frequentabile. Lo stesso protagonista – interpretato da Chris D’Elia – seppur donnaiolo impenitente, non riesce a gestire il rapporto con l’altro sesso se non per una notte e via. La firma della sit-com è DOC: quel Bill Lawrence già dietro i successi di “Friends”, “Scrubs”, “La tata” e “Cougar Town”. 
7.  “Falco” (in anteprima assoluta su Italia 1 dall’autunno) - E’ la curiosità seriale della stagione, serie amatissima in Francia giunta alla 3° stagione dove il protagonista, interpretato dall’affascinante Sagamore Stévenin, spopola tra i cuori femminili. La tradizione è quella delle flic-story a tinte forti dove il poliziotto del titolo si risveglia dopo 22 anni di coma affrontando criminali e affetti allo stesso modo: senza fronzoli e ipocrisie anni 2000.
8. “I Moschettieri” (in anteprima assoluta su Italia 1 dall’autunno) – La ricostruzione seriale della BBC delle avventure di Dumas è probabilmente la migliore mai realizzata (guanto di sfida a chi dice il contrario!). Forse dell’immaginario tutto, cinema compreso. Peter Capaldi (attuale “Doctor Who”) e Santiago Cabrera (“Heroes”) tra i volti noti della sontuosa e fascinosa ricostruzione già confermata per la 2° stagione. Le riprese sono avvenute a Praga.
