Bond 25 has officially kicked off production! On Thursday morning, the cast of the highly-anticipated James Bond film was revealed. Joining Daniel Craig in the upcoming film will be Rami Malek, Billy Magnussen, Ana De Armas, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch and Dali Benssalah. Additionally, Ralph Fiennes, Rory Kinnear, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Léa Seydouxand Jeffrey Wright are returning for the new film, directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga. The cast reveal took place during a livestream event from Jamaica, where part of the movie is set to be filmed. Malek, who will play the villain in Bond 25, joined the event via a video message as he was unable to make it to Jamaica for the launch. "I'm stuck here in New York in production, but I'm very much looking forward to joining the whole cast and crew so very soon," the Oscar winner, who is filming Mr. Robot, said in the message. "And I promise you all I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing."

La prima volta che abbiamo visto Rami Malek, spuntava dal cappuccio della felpa, con gli occhi spiritati, nella serie "Mr Robot" di Sam Esmail. Trafficava con l'informatica, viveva una topaia, era preso di mira dal Mr Robot del titolo, anarchico-insurrezionalista (altisonante per "sfegato in guerra con il mondo") che voleva cancellare i debiti dei poveri con le banche, e distruggere qualche multinazionale cattiva. Si avvertiva anche un sentore di pillola rossa in stile "Matrix": siccome siamo contrari, e preferiamo le superfici alla profondità, siamo passati ad altre serie. Ma per colpa degli occhi spiritati non siamo riusciti a divertirci con "Bohemian Rhapsody": altro che Freddie Mercury, era sempre il confuso e infelice Rami Malek.
Mahershala Ali è nella terza stagione di "True Detective", con Stephen Dorf. Con successo, a giudicare da quel che si legge e si dice in giro (su Sky Atlantic, anche on demand e in versione originale, pronta per quando avremo il tempo di vederla).
Regina King, tra i quattro la meno conosciuta - l'Oscar è arrivato per "Se la strada potesse parlare" - sarà in "Watchmen", la serie di Damon Lindelof in arrivo su Hbo. Per non farsi mancare nulla, e per non irritare Alan Moore - l'autore del fumetto illustrato da Dave Gibbons, sempre scontento quando il cinema adatta cose sue - ha scomodato il Vecchio e il Nuovo Testamento. Dai Queen a James Bond. Rami Malek, il protagonista di Bohemian Rhapsody, il film attualmente nelle sale dedicato all'ex voce dei Queen, potrebbe indossare i panni del villain nel nuovo film della saga di James Bond. Lo riferisce Variety. La conferma di Malek nel ruolo è legata alle riprese, in marzo, dell'ultima stagione di «Mr. Robot» (serie che è valsa all'attore il premio Emmy nel 2016), che andrebbero a sovrapporsi con l'impegno per Bond 25. Nel caso in cui gli impegni lo consentissero, l'attore seguirebbe le orme degli ultimi due antagonisti di 007, Christoph Waltz e Javier Bardem, interpreti del ruolo di «cattivi» in Spectre e Skyfall. E certo invece che a indossare i panni della Bond Girl tornerà Léa Seydoux, che riprenderà il ruolo di Madeleine Swann già rivestito in Spectre.

Rami Malek may have found a new love interest right at work. Malek and his “Bohemian Rhapsody” co-star Lucy Boynton are dating, Us Weekly reports. Fan accounts on social media also show that they aren’t necessarily hiding PDA, holding onto each other and looking affectionately into each other’s eyes in one shot. “They met while filming ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ in London,” an insider told the publication of 24-year-old Boynton and 36-year-old Malek. “He is so into her. He goes and visits her in London all the time.” Malek plays Queen frontman Freddie Mercury in the movie, while Boynton plays Mercury’s muse Mary Austin. Malek was previously connected to his “Mr. Robot” co-star Portia Doubleday, though they split in 2017.

We may be a while away from the third season of Mr. Robot, but perhaps this new scoop can hold us over for a bit. The cast stepped out at a For Your Consideration panel and screening for their hit USA Network series held at The Metrograph on Thursday (June 8) in New York City.
Stars Rami Malek, Grace Gummer, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday and Christian Slater opened up about what we can expect from the upcoming season.
“Season 2 was, for me, as a character, the boundary season, with Sam Elliot (creator) trying to place these boundaries and restrictions on the direction Mr. Robot wants things to go,” Christian expressed (via Variety). “Every decision Elliot made created a combative situation between us, which was frustrating. We were trying to outsmart each other. I asked Sam what he felt was at the core of Season 3 between Elliot and Mr. Robot and the only word he was able to give me is ‘disintegration’.”
“I always ask Sam, what else can we do?,” Rami added. “I think Sam is very happy that it might come off as effortless in this moment, but I will assure you there’s nothing effortless about it. We know these characters so well, we can slip into them fairly easily, but the level of work is just as consuming as it was from day one.”

I said in my review, “The structural concepts are all here to create an intriguing psychological drama, but the lack of realism when it comes to the supporting cast of caricatures makes for a tenuous emotional foundation. Despite a committed lead performance and flashes of finding beauty in the bizarre, Buster’s Mal Heart loses confidence as it proceeds, resulting in a journey of half-formed ideas that could’ve used as much focus as Malek’s dead-eyed glance.”

“Mr. Robot” star Rami Malek is attached to play Freddie Mercury in long-development biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” from GK Films with Bryan Singer in talks to direct. New Regency and Fox are coming aboard to co-produce the film with Graham King producing as well.

the group confirming his involvement as well as Malek’s. King has been
trying to get the project off the ground for sometime
having originally set it up at Sony with Sacha Baron Cohen
at one point set to star. When Cohen dropped out, King began
shopping the project elsewhere while looking for a new director
and front-man to star in the pic.
Jim Beach is also producing with Denis O’Sullivan exec producing.
Original Queen bandmembers Brian May and Roger Taylor
will serve as music producers.
Malek, 35, recently won the best actor Emmy for USA’s
hit cyber series “Mr. Robot”.
King, who won an Oscar for “The Departed”, has Allied bowing on Nov. 23.
