If this image creeps you out, you’re not alone. FX has learned that some people just can’t stomach billboards that promote The Strain, the cable net’s new horror show that’s based on the book trilogy by director Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim) and author Chuck Hogan.
Unfortunately, FX wouldn’t specify where it’ll make the changes, though Buzzfeed reported that several people in Los Angeles were unhappy with the ads.
The Strain, which is also executive-produced by Lost’s Carlton Cuse, debuts July 13. The 13-episode series focuses on an epidemiologist (House of Cards’ Corey Stoll) who must battle a parasitic sickness threatening to transform New Yorkers into plasma-loving monsters.
