She may be one of the highest-paid women on television, but The Big Bang Theorys Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting is also one of the most down-to-earth. Case in point: What other celeb would admit to keeping entire drawers full of candy in her bedroom or that she has to buy jeans in three different sizes? Extreme punctuality—not to mention an endearing tendency to give TMI—is just another one of Kaley's refreshing anti-Hollywood traits. Another is the fact that she works hard for her body and isn’t afraid to admit it. You won’t hear “Oh, I just look like this naturally” from her. Asked how she got in the ridiculously toned shape you see on our cover, she confesses, “I’ve never worked so hard to look good for something in my entire career. But I didn’t starve or kill myself with exercise. I went slowly, and it paid off.”
On the workout routine responsible for her killer body: “It took years for me to figure out what my body needs and that what works for my friends doesn’t necessarily work for me. Doing yoga five times a week has transformed my body. I love being toned and having muscle; it’s so sexy and beautiful. And I owe it 100 percent to yoga. I go to a place called CorePower Yoga. One morning I’ll take the Hot Power Fusion class, which is an amazing calorie burner. Or I’ll take a Yoga Sculpt class, where we wear three-pound weights during yoga moves. The sculpt classes include 20 seconds of mountain climbing or jumping jacks between the poses, so I get cardio, too.”

Shonda Rhimes and her leading ladies, Kerry Washington, Ellen Pompeo, and Viola Davis take the cover of EW‘s latest issue!
There are four separate covers highlighting Shonda‘s hit ABC shows Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, and Scandal. Here’s what the cast had to share about their shows:
Ellen, on the sexist response to McDreamy: “All of a sudden, Patrick [Dempsey] leaves, and it’s like, Oh my God, Meredith’s gonna get killed with Alzheimer’s! The show couldn’t possibly go on without the man!”
Viola, on colorism in the entertainment industry: “You have to come from Detroit or Atlanta to be black. If you have John Denver on your iPod and you come from Central Falls, Rhode Island, then: Eh, you trickle-down black woman.”
Kerry, on why it’s different to work for a female showrunner: “I was talking to an actress who’s pregnant and really worried about telling her bosses, and I said, ‘Yeah, when I told my boss I was pregnant, she literally jumped up and down in my trailer.’ I don’t know if there’s a male showrunner who would do that.”

If you’re one of those poor, unfortunate souls who loves the current boom in quality television, but is tortured by your inability to consume all of it, things might be about to get better and worse. Variety is reporting that Apple, the billionaire gorilla in the room, has started kicking the tires on original content production, too, possibly in an attempt to compete with your Netflixs and Amazons and Hulus.
The scale of Apple’s ambitions vary depending on whom is asked, but one high-level executive who talked with the company said the goal is to create development and production divisions that would churn out long-form content to stream in a bid to compete with Netflix. Apple is hoping to put a headhunting firm on those hires in the coming months, according to source, with the goal of being in operation next year. Unknown is whether the focus is on TV series, movies — or both.
Also unknown is whether these TV series and/or movies will be sold individually through iTunes, the way third-party content currently is, or if this signals a move toward a monthly subscription service, a la Apple Music. What we DO know for certain is the following things: One, with $200 billion in cash on hand, Apple has the resources to basically do whatever it wants, and competitors could understandably be very nervous today. Two, if Apple is taking pitches for these new projects, I mean, I did just type “Billionaire Gorilla” in that first paragraph…

GOSSIP - Keep tonic and Kerry on!

Kerry Washington wakes up early. I learn this when her publicist emails to ask if I’d like to do pilates with the actress at 6:30 a.m. before we sit down for our interview. A cursory Google search of Washington suggests I’m in trouble: This is, after all, a woman who moved to India after college and became certified as a yoga instructor. But my fear of pilates-induced humiliation is outweighed by my desire to watch Olivia Pope work out.
Washington, 38, arrives in sweats, with no makeup and no entourage, looking infinitely more relaxed than the character she plays on television. She’s a new mother with a hit show, but her face betrays none of the stress that must entail. Instead, her skin glows, her smile is bright, her eyes somehow managing to convey warmth, strength and vulnerability all at once.
“Hi, I’m Kerry,” she says, extending her hand to meet mine. We are on the Scandal set in Hollywood, standing in a dressing room that has been converted into a small gym for the actress. The space houses a pilates machine, blocks, resistance bands and a smattering of free weights. Washington’s trainer, Julie Turner, arrives, and they begin a quick exchange about the day’s workout; their shorthand has been honed by two to six pilates sessions a week for the past five years.
Though she and the other Scandal actresses have made regular hikes around Los Angeles a group ritual, pilates is Washington’s anchor. “There are a lot of forms of exercise where you have to leave yourself out of the room while you force yourself to do this thing,” she explains. “With pilates, I get to bring my true self. I cry, I laugh. I get to go: Where is my body today? What do I need today? How can I take care of myself and push myself past my comfort zone? How can I be both loving and challenging?”

NEWS - Rivoluzione, compagni!

Let’s be real: With the increasing prices of cable packages, many television viewers are cutting the cord and getting their content primarily from streaming services. Sure, they have to deal with spoilers, but that is a relatively small price to pay for fewer commercials and the ability to watch when they want. However, one downside to this has been the fact that Nielsen ratings haven’t taken streaming numbers into account when rating shows, so, even though you watched Happy Endings faithfully on Hulu, it didn’t matter.
Well, it seems that Nielsen is FINALLY updating their system and will take Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime into account when ascribing a rating to a television show. According to the A.V. Club, not only will the company be tracking more than 1,000 shows’ streaming numbers, they will also be providing analytic breakdowns of the ages and genders of viewers, as well. The system isn’t perfect, however: They will not be taking international numbers into account, nor will it register views from mobile devices. In other words, if you’re streaming from your phone to your Chromecast, you aren’t doing your part.
While there are flaws in these improvements, this is still great news. Netflix original content like House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black, and Daredevil are bound to benefit, as well as shows like The Mindy Project that struggled to find a traditional audience before moving to Hulu.

Lea Michele takes the cover of Flare magazine’s October 2015 issue, which was provided exclusively to JustJared.com.
Here’s what the 28-year-old Scream Queens actress had to share with the mag:
On finding love again after Cory Monteith‘s death: “I wanted to make sure that I was okay with me, feeling strong and feeling happy on my own. I didn’t want anybody to fill any holes for me—that sounds sexual! I wanted to make sure that I was a whole person again and that no one was coming into my life to put me back together. I needed to do that on my own. I worked very, very, very hard and I got back to that place where I was genuinely happy and strong and ready to live again and see the world and, you know, bring in more beautiful experiences. And that’s when someone miraculously came into my life.”
On her BFF Emma Roberts: “Emma speaks up for herself, she stands up for herself, she takes care of herself, and those are the kinds of girls I want to be around.”
On triumphing over haters: “I’m so proud of my success. I’m really proud of the life I’ve built and created for myself. I’ve kept my head on my shoulders to get to where I am. You’re always going to run into critics. The only people I care about are the people that are close to me. It’s a tough business, it’s a tough town, and you really have to have a thick skin. I’m constantly learning, but I’m really proud of where I am.”
The full interview is available now on Flare.com, and will be available on Next Issue on September 1 and on newsstands September 14.

NEWS - Clamoroso al Cibali bis!
Due "story"-bomb lo stesso giorno:

The appetite of American Horror Story has grown from year to year in terms of ratings and awareness, with last year’s Freak Show garnering the biggest audience and most Emmy noms than any iteration preceding. So, it’s not altogether surprising that Ryan Murphy and his writing team are considering doing two iterations of the series going forward. “Next year we might do a fall American Horror Story and a spring,” says Murphy. “We have to decide.” He adds, “We’re doing something that we’ve never done before on the show where we’re doing two different groups of writers rooms. Some of our writers will be bouncing around but a whole different group coming in late August. The next thing we’re crafting up is very, very different than this. Not smaller. But just not opulent. More rogue and more dark.” To continue reading more about the upcoming season of American Horror Story, pick up the new issue of Entertainment Weekly, on newsstands Friday, or buy it here.

News tratta da "Vulture"

When Jessica Lange announced that she wouldn't be appearing in American Horror Story: Hotel, fans were distraught. She's been an integral part of the show since its inception, first appearing in a pivotal supporting role in Murder House and then taking the lead with bravado in Asylum. In Freak Show, she basically performed showstoppers exclusively, including her super-uncomfortable versions of David Bowie's "Life on Mars?" and Lana Del Rey's "Gods and Monsters." She's starring in the road-trip comedy Wild Oats this fall, opposite Shirley MacLaine and Demi Moore, and will return to Broadway next year for a revival of Long Day's Journey Into Night. But Lange isn't gone from American Horror Story for good. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, series creator Ryan Murphy said:
"It’s always possible. I’m trying to deal with her play schedule. Jessica is always about the character. She’ll be back—she’s not gone forever. But that’s the fun and fresh thing about the show: sometimes somebody has to go away before you realize how much you miss them. She wants to come back we just have to come up with something."
So while we'll certainly enjoy Lady Gaga's Countess and her bloodlust and that "drillbit dildo" on Hotel, we can take solace knowing that Lange will one day return to chew scenery with glorious gusto. Considering that Murphy told EW there might be two AHS seasons next year, she'll have double the chance.

NEWS - The Big God Theory!

Actress Mayim Bialik recently opened up about being the target of anti-Semitism and the difficulty of being religious in Hollywood during an interview with Fox News. "[S]imply by going to Israel this summer and saying nothing more than, 'I've gone to Israel,' I got the same amount of hatred and threats and anti-Semitism for actually making a statement trying to support people [who], whether I like it or not, are serving in an army," Bialik said about visiting a friend in the Israel Defense Forces. "That reveals the truth. It really doesn't matter what I support or believe; the fact that I'm Jewish and go there is enough -- that should be alarming to most people."
The actress, who has described herself as "aspiring modern Orthodox," said that Hollywood is not a welcoming place for religiosity.
"I think in general it's never going to be trendy to be observant or religious in Hollywood circles. There are people I know of faith and we tend to congregate together. I study Jewish texts weekly. That's something really positive to me. When you're a person of faith, it stays with you all the time," she said.
Last week's statements echo remarks that the "Big Bang Theory" star made in 2012 about the near impossibility of being observant in Hollywood, mainly because of how the industry treats modesty.
"For me, though, it's more the aspects of the 'red carpet' and needing to wear designer clothes that are strapless, and all those things that I don't do and that are actually extremely stressful and difficult to work around because it is a big part of the industry," she told the Jerusalem Post at the time. "The goal is to be competitive."

Natasha Lyonne is teaching proper texting etiquette. We’re nestled in a back booth at a diner in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake neighborhood, about to eat scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. She rests her head against the wall as she pulls up a GIF saved on her phone of a woman punching a human-sized penis. “A GIF always comes in handy,” she explains. “It doesn’t have to be something racy—it could be a gerbil eating a snack or whatever.”
The 36-year-old Orange Is the New Black actress, a born-and-bred New Yorker, is only visiting L.A. Although she’s often here for work, it’s clear the woman hails from the city that never sleeps: She possesses a charming New York accent, an intrepid attitude, and admits to shoulder-checking slow-moving pedestrians, but insists it’s a polite gesture. “I feel very territorial, like I’ve already pissed all over this town and I’m allowed to do what I want and where I want to do it,” she adds. Teetering on the edge of sarcasm and sincerity, Lyonne admits to having some similarities with her Orange character, Nicky Nichols, a tenacious convict and former drug addict with an Upper East Side education. “Other than the fact that I was a scholarship kid, it wasn’t too radically different from my own story,” she muses. She delves into what it was like growing up in a major metropolis, and those two years her family spent in Israel for tax evasion purposes. It was a childhood full of pet rottweilers, BMX biking against traffic, Israeli acrobat training, and adventures with her father, who every Sunday would take her for a drive to steal all the newspapers in their neighborhood. “It was this hilarious thing we would do,” she reminisces. “Looking back, not a great influence.”
These hijinks were mixed with constant go-sees. She appeared in commercials for Hershey’s, Robotech, Pine-Sol, Minute Maid. And then her first big gig came at age six on Pee-Wee’s Playhouse. “Having your child become a child actor is absurd in the first place,” she says. “But if you’re going to do it, at least put them on Pee-Wee’s, because then it’s, like, imagination land.” Eventually, her role as a cute hippie kid on the show evolved into leading roles in cult classics like Slums of Beverly Hills and But I’m a Cheerleader, to name a couple.
“Now that I’m past the nightmare of it all—all my shenanigans and drugs—and have come out the other side, it is kind of funny to be 36 with 30 years of experience of doing my job,” she says.
Lyonne, open in discussing her past drug addiction, likens the experience to being a kid who enjoys a guiltless slice of Carvel ice cream cake shaped like a whale at a birthday party before spiraling out of control and eating the entire cake alone in her room. In Lyonne’s case, the cake was heroin. “It’s hard to get a job after your reputation is destroyed like that,” she admits. “There was a time when it felt like, ‘I’m never going to do that again; that time is over.’ And then you’re right back in it.”
