GOSSIP - Ruth Wilson di "The Affair": "le donne forti ormai sono solo in televisione"
Ruth Wilson poses for the cover of Hamptons magazine‘s Holiday issue, available now.
Here is what the 33-year-old The Affair actress had to share with the mag:
On developing a connection to her grief filled character:
“It’s hard to go to these places, but it’s what your job is; you should
be representing people properly and serving their lives and what they
have been through. For me, I try to go into a lot of detail when I
approach something because I need to get the specificity of it.”
On playing the same scenes twice as Alison: “It was
one of the main interests of the show to me—the fact that you get to
play different versions of your character. As an actor, you’re always
doing that, I think. One thing that we were trained to do at drama
school was to look at the characters in the way that they would be
viewed from the outside, and the way that they would view themselves.
For me, that was really fascinating; it was the process that I would
normally do anyway, but even more exaggerated, and I found that was
quite a fun challenge.”
On winning her first Golden Globe: “On television,
what you are witnessing at this day and age—and it’s wonderful—are
strong female roles, which you don’t find on film. These women are
brilliant, and they have been around for a long time. To be nominated in
the first place was a major honor; to have won was a bit bizarre. I
didn’t expect that. It was a great night, and I feel very proud.”
