Shonda Rhimes took to her Twitter account on Tuesday night (March 24) to blast an article posted by Deadline as it suggested that the surge of ethnic casting on television was “too much of a good thing.”
The article quickly was put on blast by Hollywood heavyweights after it stated that 50% of the roles in pilots these days have to be ethnic despite African-Americans only representing 13% of the U.S. population.
The article also suggested that “the pendulum might have swung a bit too far in the opposite direction” after years of there being very few roles for non-Caucasian actors.
Shonda, the creator of such smash hit shows as Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder, previously slammed the New York Times after the paper’s critic called her an “angry black woman.”
1st Reaction:: HELL NO. Lemme take off my earrings, somebody hold my purse!
2nd Reaction: Article is so ignorant I can't even be bothered.
