Deadline brings word that 20th Century Fox is developing a modern take on the classic TV series The A-Team. Fast & Furious producer Chris Morgan will executive produce The A-Team remake series with Tawnia McKiernan, the daughter of original series creator Stephen J. CannellAlbert Kim (“Sleepy Hollow,” “Nikita”) will script the latest adaptation of the material. The outlet reports that like the original series, the new show will focus on a team of special forces operatives framed for a crime they didn’t commit, and intent on bringing down the black-ops organization that set them up. In between clearing their name, however, the team will help others along the way. Unlike the original cast, the new series will include both male and female members among its ranks.
Originally created by Cannell and Frank Lupo, the series premiered in 1983 and went on to last for five seasons and 98 episodes. It starred George Peppard as Col. John “Hannibal” Smith, Dirk Benedict as Lieutenant Templeton “Faceman” Peck, Dwight Schultz as Captain “Howling Mad” Murdock, and Mr. T as  B. A. Baracus.
A feature film remake was released in 2010 from director Joe Carnahan and featured Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson as the four main characters.
